Best Frostweave Cloth Farming Spot

Writer: Alisha.

Frostweave Cloth is an item that is always in demand. Tailors need it for power leveling (and many prefer to buy it rather than farm it). Not only that, but the bags are still extremely popular and sell extremely well around the 175g-275g (more or less) price range. I have even seen on one of my servers the price of these bags being equal to the price of the larger Embersilk bags (because Embersilk is so prevalent in our markets at the moment and easy to farm). Many people believe runs through Utgarde Keep to be the place for farming Frostweave Cloth, but I have discovered another place that not only is easier to farm, but more plentiful with the Frostweave drops. So get your tailor and head on over to Icecrown.

That's right, Icecrown. Specifically the Northwestern field (highlighted with a pretty pink circle around it). The Northeastern field in Icecrown is filled with ghouls that don't drop anything (with the exception of the Foot Soldiers and Stitched Brutes near the gates, but I haven't found farming them to be as profitable). The same goes for the Southeast and Southwest portions. The mobs are few and spread out so farming the Frostweave here is not a good option.

Potion of Treasure Finding Video Guide

Hey there JMTC!

Today's post and video covers the Potion of Treasure Finding! This is a potion made by Alchemists at level 525 which is an excellent gold maker in two ways! In my video, I will demonstrate both of these ways, and give some tips on how to make best use of this potion!

The magnificent thing about this potion is that it caters to two distinct types of gold makers. Farmers, and Manufacturers. Farmers can make, and use these potions to get some extra volatiles, gold, cloth, and even ore while going on farming sprees. Manufacturers can create, and sell these potions to those farmers, or even people leveling who would like to get some more gold out of their leveling days.

Make sure when you are farming with this potion that you use a solid AoE (Area of Effect) class. I used my Shadow Priest because Mind Sear is excellent right now. There are many other classes including Hunters, Warlocks, and Mages that can put out some awesome numbers. Even tanks can AoE grind these mobs.

Potion of Treasure Finding Materials:

  • Cinderbloom x8
  • Heartblossom x6
  • Stormvine x4
  • Whiptail x4
  • Crystal Vial x1

If you're not an Alchemist, you can either hire one, or buy these potions from the Auction House! Each potion has a 60 minute duration, so if you make use of your time you will certainly make your money back. In about 15 minutes of farming Troggs in Deepholm, I received 6 Tiny Treasure Chests.

I wish you all the best of luck in making gold with these potions! If you would like to see more of my videos, stay tuned to Just My Two Copper as I will be posting every new video here, or subscribe to my YouTube Channel and receive updates on YouTube every time a new video releases!

Frostweave Farming in Cataclysm Patch 4.2

Author: Leo.

The Frostweave farming season has started!

Bags always sell well. We all want them, we all need them, and we always want bigger ones. No surprise that frostweave bags are one of the easy to sell items on the auction house. With easy I mean that you won’t be undercut and are stuck with them for a while. Post them, they sell. Not much competition if you just undercut by a few gold only. They sell like hot cakes.

After Cataclysm came out, the drop rate of frostweave cloth was lowered immensely, you know, to the they-just-don't-drop-anymore kind of rate, and the price of this frostweave cloth has sky rocketed.

In my opinion, with vendors, bank access and mailboxes everywhere, no-one really needs the bigger overpriced bags. But paying 100-200g for a 20 slot bag is definitely worth your gold. At the moment they sell for 200g on my server. The thing is that they stay just under the price of 22 slot embersilk bags.

Utilizing Your Alts - Camping Nests For Gold

Pets have always been a great item to sell in WoW. Most of them have high markups which allow for huge profit margins, and the best thing is that people are willing to pay absurd prices for some pets. Vendor pets, Hatchling, Whelps, Oozes, you name it there is probably a pet for it.

One thing I simply love doing is utilizing my alts, how? I park the at the location of the hacthling nests - which give me a chance of making an easy couple hundred gold if not more for simply logging in and checking if it's there. There are/is a total of 4 hatchling nests that can be "camped" - I will name them below and show you the possible spawn/locations of the nest below.

Location: Un'Goro Crater

Location: Wetlands - Inside a cave
Location: Dustwallow Marsh
Location: Northern Barens
As you guys can see 2/4 of these can be camped with an alt that as low as level 20, the other two you'll need an alt around the 50's ( for Un'Goro ). This is a great way to make gold, all you have to do is log into your alt, check if the nest is there, if it is, grab it then log out and check back again a couple hours later.

If you have a lot of alts, I suggest you give this a shot - the hatchlings can fetch a pretty penny at the Auction house, and they sell rather well on my server whenever I list them.

#1 Best Cataclysm Embersilk Farming Spot

A couple months back I did a post of where to farm embersilk, well.. that's now really outdated as Blizzard nerfed the spot that was posted so I thought that I'd update that guide and give you guys the best and new Cataclysm Embersilk farming spots.

The Embersilk farming spot is Tol Borad. I'm sure most of you guys have been here and have seen the cloth drops while doing the dailies here. The mobs are named Restless Soldiers and Restless Infantry, they have 17k hp and are very easy to kill. Above is a map with the location of them. The only real downside is that these mobs are part or are near a quest, and therefore other players might kill them as well. Both the Restless Soldiers & Restless Infantry have a drop rate of 50-52%, and they can drop up to four cloth per mob. It's simply ideal for farming, they're low hp mobs that fight each other, dot classes such as warlocks, shadow priests and even a fire mage ( living bomb ) would excel here if they used the "tag" and move on strategy. It would be even better if you used the best grinding trinket currently in the game.

There is even a wowhead comment that states he looted over 200 cloth in under 35 minutes by grinding these mobs, that would equate to roughly  17-18 stacks in an hour; and even more if you were under the effect of the Potion of Treasure Finding.

Farming cloth is a great alternative if you don't have a gatherer and you don't have a lot of gold on you. It's an easy way to make a couple grand in an hour or two.

Farming Spots In Hyjal

Guest Post By from Altos Gold"ish" Advice
First off, I would like to thank Markco for getting me started in my quest for gold in the game of World of Warcraft….. Most of you know me as Alto from over at Alto’s Gold”ish” Advice - The Worst WoW Blog Ever! I am grateful to have this opportunity to have a guest post at JMTC. I am going to be talking about a spot that I have been farming now for some time, stumbling on it by complete accident.  Here’s the story:

I was questing in Hyjal some time back, and got completely bored of the content (second toon leveling there, already saw the new content, so not impressed anymore…).

I decided at that point to bust out the trusty fishing pole, and farm a few pools for the Volatile Fires (2-4 per pool). There are a few that spawn randomly here, so within a few minutes work (and a little luck), you can hit 500g quite quickly. (FYI-Don’t forget to use your find fish to assist in finding the pools of fish easier….)

So after farming up the pools (and waiting for the respawns), I decided to look for a few pockets to pick (for the Flame Scarred Junkboxes- and the slim chance of getting an epic drop),  I ended up right next door (where my cursor is sitting in the picture) in Ascendant’s Rise, finding  some ripe mobs that were in need of getting their pockets emptied by yours truly.

Twilight Subjugator (tauren, troll, and what seems to be a humanoid type) were all on the list. After picking them, I would smash the mob, and very quickly, as they have very low health for 81 mobs. To my surprise, they started to double spawn right on top of me. Literally…. The spawn rate was so fast that I could barely run through half of the town before respawns, if they didn’t already. They drop decent loot, around 1g per in cash, Embersilk Cloth (about 15% I gather), greens (around 5%- great for D/E’ing- not so much for AH sales anymore), and plenty of greys that vendor for 2-6g each.  To the left is an example of a loot that I obtained from one Twilight Subjugator.

Cataclysm Whelpling Farming Guide

Pets have always been a great money maker in world of warcraft, in fact they've been a huge part of my gold making ever since I've picked up engineering. I've since then expanded to all types of pets, from snowmans to oozes, and even whelps.

You read right, whelps. These little buggers have obscenely low drop rates from specific mobs around Azeroth, which can be taken for as a con or a pro. It's a con because, of course the drop rate is low that you'll spend a fair bit of time farming the mobs that drop them, but it's worth it because a single whelp can net your anywhere from 5-10,000g. You can become instantly rich overnight!

There are four total whelps, and in this post, I will cover all of them, where to farm them and such, do keep in mind that Blizzard made these pets a zone drop, for example The Tiny Crimson Whelp is a zone drop from Wetlands.

Azure Whelpling

This is the blue version of the four whelps. You used to be able to farm this whelp in Azshara, you cannot any more. You will need to head to Winterspring to farm for this pet. As of Cataclysm, the old mob that dropped this pet has been removed as Azshara is now a low level zone. The next best option is going to be killing Anguished Highbornes in Winterspring. The drop rate is roughly 1%

The map to the right shows the location of these mobs. These mobs also have a fairly decent chance to drop the enchanting formula, Icy Chill, which can sell anywhere from 100-200g at the Auction House.

You can also kill/farm any other mob in Winterspring( please correct me here ) to get a chance at this pet, I liked this spot because you also have a chance at the Icy Chill formula.

Dark Whelpling
This is the dark version of the four whelps. There are multiple zone where you can farm this little pet, either one will do fine, but Badlands seems like it has a little higher % to drop the pet.

You can head to Badlands and farm Scalding Whelplings, they are located at the very bottom of the map. The mobs are level 41-45 and are spaced out evenly, so it's ideal to farm here. I would personally grab an alt and grind out a couple levels here, knock out two birds with one stone. According to many wowhead comments, this is one of the easiest pets to grind here, and it's fairly enjoyable.

#1 Best Embersilk Farming Spot

People have been trying to figure out the best farming spot for Embersilk ever since Cataclysm has been out, I have found one of the best spots, thanks to the Consortium forums and Zerohour.

Farming this spot I manage to get a minimum of 200 cloth per hour, topping off at 260 cloth per hour. It really is a great farming spot as the mobs are in packs, hit like pansies and they have a high drop rate of cloth. Top it all off with a potion of treasure finding, you're golden.

The red path is where you will be farming, the mobs are the packs of Jaspertip Swarmer, also you can pull the bats, with the potion of treasure finding everything has a chance to drop the tiny treasure.

The way the potion of treasure finding works is, every mob you kill has a small chance to drop a tiny treasure, One tiny treasure can yield 3-12 cloth, gold, and sometimes volatiles. I find that the drop rate on the treasure is roughly about 5-6% per mob.

If you're not an alchemist, I suggest you go have the potion made for you, or check the Auction House for one, they currently run at around 100g per potion, but it will last you a full hour, spending that 100g will get paid back solely by the gold contained within the tiny treasures.

While farming here, you will also find that you will walk out with tons of greens and grey items, this is great, it's extra income. By farming here for an hours, I estimated I made roughly 2,500g. It's not bad, if you ask me, as the prices for ores and herbs are steadily declining.

#1 Best Savage Leather Farming Spot

Guest Post by Aeliel from Dreams of Iso'rath
The price of Savage Leather just won’t go down on my server – and I need to level leatherworking on my main. So I’ve been levelling my hunter, who has skinning as one profession. It’s something I’d been wanting to do anyway, considering all the pretty pets in Cataclysm (got myself a flaming turtle as soon as I hit 81; I might tell the story of the adventurous tame later), and if it saves me some gold all the better.

Doing 80-81 in Vashj’ir got me some leather, but just barely enough for 5 skillpoints. Argh. I switched to Hyjal at 81, mostly to get the aforementioned flaming turtle, and then did 81-82 there simply because I couldn’t be bothered switching back. At 82, I went to Deepholm.

Not much skinning in Deepholm, what with all the stone creatures, right? Yeah, that’s what I thought as well. I quested my way through almost the entirety of the zone, skinning the occasional dragonkin and getting more and more anxious to hit 83 so I could go skin my way through Uldum.

Then the Therazane quest chain led me to the upper left corner of Deepholm. Unskinnable flayers, rock, rock, more rock, and… what’s that? Bats? Let’s try and shoot them and see.

In red, we have the bat path. Here, Stone Bats fly all around the marked area in packs of 8-10. You shoot one, you pull the entire pack; they have 5368 health each, and I could 3-shot them even as a level 82-83 hunter. Each of them skins into one Savage Leather (no scraps at all that I could see in my brief, unscientific farming of 8 stacks of leather off them) and will also occasionally skin a Strange Bloated Stomach; they also have a chance of skinning into a Pristine Hide (I got one last night), although the droprate is so low since the nerf-hotfix that your best bet if you want Pristine Hides is to just skin lots and lots of leather and trade up using the vendors in Twilight Highlands.

The bats also drop Toughened Flesh. It doesn’t sell terribly well (just 2g each on my server) but it’s used to make the Goblin Barbecue, the Engineering-crafted basic feast of Cataclysm. (There’s a better version, providing 90 stamina / 90 something else, but it’s a reward from a guild achievement your guild is unlikely to obtain anytime soon unless you’re in <Fishing Addicts>.) I got 3 stacks of the stuff from just a brief period of farming and let’s just say that Alieth loves me very much right now considering how fast his guild chews through the barbecues.

#1 Best Cataclysm Whiptail Farming Spot

This post is part of Cold's Gold Blogging Carnival

If you haven't heard already, many people have made 20, 30, and in some cases 50k purely from selling Cataclysm herbs and ores. I've personally made 25k in the pas two days with casual farming, and this is herbalism alone.

I farm some specific herbs, especially since Deepholm and Twilight Highlands have been nerfed. I have resorted to farming Whiptail, and Azsahara's Veil. Both currently go for 3-400g per stack, and they're both extremely easy and plentyful to farm.

Below is the best route that I have been using over the past week to make 25k with minimal time spent farming herbs. I can go here, farm for 10 minutes and have 4-5 stacks of herbs without even trying, I've even farmed while watching my favorite TV show, Dexter! It's that easy!
