Thank you for a nice wrap-up.
This will sure make me dive some more into the recordings than earlier.

Haven't seen anyone with such a sample size, so you might be interested in this. Straight from Enchantrix taken since 4.0.6.
Elementium Ore (170300 ores):
[52185] = {

Well, according to the data provided by you nubbie (which, is probably better than my off-hand data I provided), here are your results.
ELEMENTIUM ORE
Uncommon: 1.11/prospect
4.44/stack
Rare: .263/prospect
1.05/stack
OBSIDIUM ORE
Uncommon: 1.495/prospect.
5.98/stack
Rare: .073/prospect
.2924/stack
Assuming that date is more accurate, your buy points on elementium is (4.44 x 9) or 39.96 to basically "guarantee" breaking even off uncommons alone and with obsidium (5.96 x 9) or 53.64.
Obviously carnelians are worth more than vendor, jasper are worth more on occasion, and your rare gems are your profit margin in the scenario laid out.
This is of course assuming I didn't bork the math again, but thx for more detailed info!

Quick question. Do I dump my guild bank full of Pyrite Ore right now? Or do I hold onto it?
Catharsis said... April 9, 2011 at 8:12 PM
@Elijah
Heres my thought on dumping pyrite. So long as 5g uncut green gems seem like they will be left in game, I'm hesitant to dump (the difference between 5 and 9 meaning I'm only losing 16g/stack of pyrite).
However, should those prices get changed too, I'm currently dumping my stock quickly as 33g/stack in losses (mind you, I could make some of it back) is a bit much.
I'm still doing the math, but it goes without saying that the riskiness of holding pyrite ore just got a whole lot worse.

Cath-
Thanks for the reply. I still feel that I can make some kind of gold off of the pyrite I have amassed. On my server, Ive been fortunate to pick it up around 90g/stack. Thanks for your insight.
