What you're going to be doing is grabbing inscription and putting it on any alt, even if it's a level 5. Next, level inscription to 75, at this point you'll have access to the minor inscription research which will allow you to learn one new recipe every day. Craft the most profitable glyphs everyday and list them at the auction house, alsso do your research everyday until you have all of the minor glyphs. There is a total of 64 minor glyphs that can be learned.
The best part is that you're spending little to no gold crafting glyphs. If you have 25g, you could buy a couple stacks of herbs, mill them, craft inks, then craft the best selling glyphs at the auction house. You'll be turning that initial 25g investment into 100g+ in a matter of seconds.
If you haven't heard about it already, pair this up with TradeSkill Master and you'll be crafting, posting & cancelling with minimal time spent. There are a ton of guides out there that will teach you how to properly set up this addon if you've never heard of it. It does take up some time to set up, but once it's set up you'll be saving yourself from hours upon hours of time, trust me.
All in all, this is one of my favorite ways to make gold on my alts that on a different server than my main, especially once I learn most of the glyphs - it gives me access to a more diverse market that I can profit from.

Don't you have to be lvl 5 to learn a prof? Or did they change that?

It would be interesting to see which profession would be best for a level 1 to use to make the most gold with (at say level 75 profession skill).
Inscription research is always extremely good thing to do, even at 85, but keep in mind after 65 days of minor inscription research for all those glyphs that level 1 could be level 85 with max inscription.

Only 1 minor flaw here: To gain any tradeskill, you must be level 5.
Still that only takes around 30-60 mins for anyone with experience in the game.

Great ideas, but iirc you need to be level 5 to pick up a profession.

It's been fixed, not sure what I was thinking when I wrote the post, lol.

Wow, was actually going to post something about this yesterday along the exact same lines, obviously starting with herbalism as well to hasten the process in the beginning but it's uncanny. Had the exact same thought last night. :P Great minds think alike it seems.

Isn't it still the case that, at inscription 75, you can only learn the lowest tier of minor glyphs? Not saying this isn't a good scheme, but I don't think that it's quite as great as presented?

Fastest way IMO is just to pick up mining and herbalism, get a couple of stacks and put them on the AH. I got about 200g under an hour on one of my alts.

Good tip Mage. This is a doubly smart thing to do if you intend to level a lot of alts/get all professions. Quite simply the sooner you start researching glyphs the sooner you can be selling those glyphs and making $$$

It is quite surprising how much the low level glyphs can sell for when compared with the following tiers of glyphs. Profitability is good thanks to the lower cost of the herbs needed.

I remember being level 5, and 25G of investment capital was a pipe dream. I think that kind of defeats the purpose, unless you mean to say 'Making Gold Like A Pro On An Alt', which I admit, doesn't sound as catchy.
