10 days til MOP

Mommar Here.

It's a brisk Saturday morning at club JMTC.  And if you listen closely you can hear the buzz in the air. Only 10 days left til the opening of the gates of Pandaria.

The tools and the choices are there.   Whether you're excited about the new continent,  pet battles,  skill sets,  dungeons,  raids or just to talk to your friends again.   MOP has that fresh feeling you get when you get a package of clothes you ordered on the internet.

For the next 10 days your mission,  if you choose to accept it, is to focus on what tasks you want to get done first.   Which character you want to level.  Which Profession is the one you want to level first.

Don't forget as well to keep an eye on quick profit opportunities as players shore up their storage for the next expansion.   If you see a good opportunity to buy out a much in need item and gain a profit,  go for it.   Players are storing up on Plants and raw materials to resell.   Using the idea of Zero Balance Investment you can both be making a small profit,  and pay for your own storage items.

Also don't forget to point your friends and guild members to your favorite journals about gold making (it's this one right?).   Your gold making success isn't just wrapped around your own personal fortune. The more gold that your guild members make,  the more flexibility as a raid you have as well.   And who doesn't want to be the hero of an auction house raid.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Leveling Interest

Mommar here:

I'm finding something interesting as I level up my Shaman goblin goddess.   I placed three pieces of BOA gear giving her a 30% boost in her XP rate.   As I was finishing up Azshara I was noticing that most of the quests ended up being low level giving me a lot less xp than I expected.

Some of this is due to using the Random Dungeon Finder to level as well.   This is giving me a large amount of XP as I'm racing through the goblin controlled territory.   I use an add-on from WOW-pro.com as my leveling source (it goes step by step,  hits all of the quests in an area,  and best of all it's free).

Having the tendency to stay on track when using a leveling guide I was hesitant to jump to another area and leave quests unfinished.  Most of the gear that I received during the quests were vendored for cheap cash.   It surprised me just how quickly that my leveling outdistanced the quests in the area.

Cataclysm had its own base of BOA gear with xp boost technology.   This gives a strong advantage
to players as they level their next crafter or gatherer.   It also puts them to have to pay attention to make
sure they are getting as much xp as they can.    If you have run through the quests in Vanilla Warcraft as
well as the Burning Crusade and Wrath expansions,  jumping ahead into different areas when the quests
turn gray can become beneficial.   Adding up the biggest bang for your buck is just as important in
Experience points as it is in gold making.

My goal is to have my shaman hitting 85 by the end of next week.  Not sure if I will make it simpler
because time is not on my side.   But that sense of urgency of wanting to get a task done is starting to
build again.  So hopefully I will reach my goals and have my own MOP prep done.

I will keep you posted

Too Much Stuff

After having dug myself out of an avalanche of a guild bank I purchased recently,  I came to the realization that I might have too much stuff saved for MOP (blasphemous words I know).

It's not that difficult to get into the hype of buying things to resell quickly for massive profits.   That will occur.  We've talked about Pets and Leather and cloth and ore to save.   And even for the rest of this week and next week we will talk some more about it.  It can be exciting to figure out what other players both old and new will want to purchase for high prices.

But there does come a time when players will balance between investment and holding.  The biggest challenge is to make sure that you are getting as much bang for your buck and storage area as possible. Many players by now have at least one separate Guild Bank of their own.   Even if you are just using your regular character storage bank each slot becomes a chance for investment.   So planning out exactly what you should buy,  and where to place it becomes more and more important.

So when you continue to buy items for investment,  keep and mental picture of exactly what amount of profit you want to obtain from the item.   If your stocking up on Netherweave for bags,  then how much profit will that be compared to purchasing a blue weapon for resell.   Will a stack of Iron Ore obtain the same profit as a stack of Heavy Leather?

Each slot that you fill for investment purposes become more important in the next two weeks.  Mists of Pandaria and the panda invasion is just beyond the horizon.   Preparation and expectation will start to build to a fever pitch.   So look for investments,  but keep that measure of resistance to buy everything without purpose.

Good Luck and Good Hoarding
