Trick or Treat Time

Its that time again.    Hallow's end is here for all the trick or treaters.   Hallow's end is my 2nd most favorite holiday of the Warcraft year (you just can't beat Brewfest for the beer).

Not much has changed this year.   The weapons and gear are of ilvl 470 quality and the minimum level requirement is 89 to get into the headless horseman fight.   As always this is a good chance to get some raid quality gear for a few minutes of work.

Also added this year is the Pandaria trick or treat baskets.  Trick or treating has arrived in Pandaria.   The geniuses at Ice-veins.com have written up a good guide for all the events during Hallow's End.

One thing to keep in mind with the Pandarian buckets is that if you haven't done the quest hubs in that area the bucket might be phased out.  This will obviously be a problem for lower levels that are looking for chances to gain quick xp.

As always wand charges will be popular,  though ever year since their introduction there have become more and more scarce opportunities for sales.   This might be your year to give back to the gang and give some free wand shots.  Yes,  I know.  sacrilegious to many gold goblins but still it's only a few gold.   For those starting out their gold goblin questing this is the best opportunity to obtain gold between wand shots and running out for trick or treat gold.

The new pandarian trick or treat bucket coordinates are

Vale of Eternal 35 78 Mistfall Village
Vale of Eternal 87 64 Shrine of Seven Stars (inside at innkeeper)

Townlong Steppes 71 58 Longying Outpost

Kun-Lai Summit 54 83 Westwind Rest Kun-Lai Summit 62 29 Zouchin Village Kun-Lai Summit 64 61 The Grummle Bazaar Kun-Lai Summit 57 60 One Keg

There are two pets that are available during the holiday

Feline Familiar
Sinister Squashling

Both are tradeable so look for many of these to be on the Auction House.   Saving two or three in your bank for later in the year can rake in some extra profit.  Even if you have learned the maximum three of the pet you can set aside the rest to relearn once you have caged and sold one from your collection.

Both are sold for 150 Tricky Treats by toy vendors in the major cities.   If you run your toons through all of the different trick or treat buckets you will end up with around 300+ treats.   This should allow you to buy 1 of each of the pets for your collection or for resell.  Just keep in mind that everyone will be doing this so the market will be fierce during the event.  This might be an excellent opportunity to take the pet and train them to a higher level for more value.

Where many times we talk about the monetary quests and opportunities but this is one of the most fun events that Warcraft has on it's agenda.   So run out with your favorite mask and go boo to someone.  It's a holiday,  I will bring the smores.

Good luck and Good Hunting

O Be Careful Little Goblin What You Buy.

Mommar here.

I was doing my searching and hunting on the auction house recently and was surprised to see something posted.  Hopefully you do understand that it's a mental impossibility for any one writer
to know all the items that can be listed on the auction house.  But for the most part an experienced
Gold Goblin can have a good idea of what is available.

Going through my pet searches for bargains I saw a Shimmering Wyrmling for sale.  I hadn't seen one of these for sale for a bit (since Wrath and the introduction of  Champion Seals.   It was a Bind on Equip item and not having seen one for a bit I debated on buying it to flip.   Then I looked at the description.

So,  the big hangup on this one was that I needed to be Exalted   But I said to myself wasn't this going to change with the pet cages?   Would I still need to be Exalted to use this and trade the pet?

So I went onto one of my low level alternates (My banking toon) and tried to summon it.   Wow,  there he was.   Many players have forgotten that they still have Champion Seals in their currency list.  And those that have found out they did quickly ran out to the Argent Tournament grounds and purchased the different pets available.   Many players didn't take the time to raise their reputation with the Sunreavers (horde) or Silver Covenant (Alliance).

The important factor in everything is to read where something comes from.   In being a gold goblin,  rare means valuable.   There are pets and items in World of Warcraft that if you have the right access you can sell at a premium.   Not just pets such as the Tiny Sporebat for resell if you have exalted with the Sporeggar faction crafted items such as the Mammoth Mining Bag from the Sons of Holdir quartermaster in Icecrown.

When you're looking through items on the Auction House and see something you don't recognize.  Taking a moment,  looking up where it came front might give you a direction on where you can get
more items for resell.  Items that maybe other gold goblins haven't seen yet.  And knowledge is gold gobbling power.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

MOP Prep: Pokewow Part 1

Mommar here

One of the most controversial subjects and new 'game features' in Mists of Pandaria are the pet battles.  Players have called it 'Pokewow',  others are excited with a completely new idea to enjoy between raiding and leveling.

Here at JMTC central were in the middle.   Where the pet battles will not be mythos changing,  and I have my doubt that there will be any epic battles of Leaping Hatchling vs Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot,  I can see where there will be enjoyment for many with this new concept.

The important thing for gold goblins will be to know what you can sell on the open market and what you cannot sell.   Big plans were dashed by the wayside when Blizzard announced that wild pets would not be able to be caged and traded/sold.   This could easily be a temporary ban on selling them til players have caught up with the traveling experience that Blizzard is interested in players obtaining.   Perhaps in a later patch these wild catches will be able to be traded, trained and sold.

Now is the time to be prepared.  Knowing what pets can be crafted for sell is vitally important to your gold making profits.

Engineering

Pet Bombling (obtained from Gnomeregan drop)
Lil Smoky (obtained from Gnomeregan)
Lifelike Mechanical Toad (very rare recipe)
Mechanical Squirrel Box
Tranquil Mechanical Yeti
Personal World Destroyer
De-Weaponized Mechanical Companion

Enchanting:

Enchanted Lantern

None of these pets require exotic materials.   Gold bars for the gold power cores in the Lifelike Mechanical Toad to Volatile Airs for the manufacturing of Electrified Ether to craft Personal World Destroyer.   Having these materials saved in your banks now will raise your profits at the end of the Mists of Pandaria Rush.

A few specific materials you should be looking to invest in if you are an enchanter are Maelstrom Crystals.  These are dropping quickly as more and more epics are Disenchanted.  They are vital for the creation of the Enchanted Lantern pet creation which already goes for a hefty markup with cross faction sales.   Buying Maelstrom Crystals now will prevent the wave of demand later from overtaking you.

All of these pets are going to be necessary if you want to have a strong Engineering/Enchanting pet business. This in no way means that you these are must have professions to be able to make gold with pets.   I will go into more detail tomorrow on exactly what strategy,  pricing and which pets to look to sell first.

Also speaking of pets,  Blizzard has cut their Pandaren Monk Pet to $5.00 US.  Unfortunately this pet isn't trade-able (yet) but it's still an interesting pet you can use to battle.

Good Luck and Good Hunting
