Making Gold By Asking Mr Robot

Every Warcraft expansion has new sites that become part of the culture.  Sites suck as Elitistjerks has been a hotspot of information for both the casual player as well as the best of the best.

The new kid (or relatively new kid) on the block is Askmrrobot.com.   This site is an excellent site on how to setup your new gear to be at it's best.  It's very simple to use and comes with many different abilities.  These include giving you a base plan of what gems and enchants are needed to get your toon into tip top shape.

Normally I wouldn't point to a pay site,  but in this case the free areas that are provided are excellent by themselves.  For the more hardcore raider the pay aspects become icing on the raiding cake.

But this entry isn't about me gushing over an awesome website.  As always,  how can you make gold from a website that tells you what gems and enchants you need.

That is the key right there.   Every spec is covered for all of the different races and class combinations.   And if you take a look at your toon and what gems you need,  it is a guarantee that someone else will need those as well.  More and more players are trying their hand at raiding with the new Looking for raid system.   So as your tinkering with your setup on enchants and gems the information will be revealed of just how much or what you should be selling.  If the haste enchant for gloves is the best for your class,  then the demand will be high.  What gems are you using for your new chest piece?  And just how many others will be using those same gems in the coming weeks?

The bricks to your tower of gold is built on information.  Even if it seems like a piece of information that only you would use.  Many players starve on how to get that last ounce of power out of their new awesome purple pants of doom.  Someone will sell those gems to them,  that someone should always be you.

So add Askmrrobot.com to your arsenal and jump on top of the game.   And be the gold raider that you have always dreamed of being.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Prepping For the Death Of PVP

Okay,  so if you hear from hardcore PVPers they will tell you that with the possible changes in 5.3,  PVP will be dead.   Some of the changes include

-  Removal of Resilence on Gear
-  Players have a base of 65% resilience
-  PVP power will be balanced on gear.

There were some other changes when it came to the equipment you could buy with conquest and honor points.   Most of our business ends up being players trying to piece specific pieces to their set to allow them to enter PVP without getting slaughtered.  Enchants and Gem slots get filled in by some but the majority of these are reserved for the high end PVP players.

Patch 5.3 is still months away.   But reading these changes should spark some ideas in your gold minded head figuring out what opportunities will exist.   Just how powerful will PVE items mixed in with PVP items become?   Will players look to min/max (Dungeons and Dragons flashback here) their gear to become monsters in the PVP world or will they stick with just straight PVP gear.

No one really knows the complete answers to these and other questions.   It's to be expected that during the PTR stage of patch 5.3 there will be some changes and tweaks to the new system.   And how those tweaks go will determine the validity of sales to PVP players as a whole.

One thing to look at now is to look at just where your enchants will be at.   Not just the two new possible PVP enchants from patch 5.3 but previous enchants and gems.   Gems and enchants will become that much more important to players than straight gear swaps.  Players will look at a gem they can buy for 100g to place in a gear slot over paying 2000g for a piece of gear that gives them only a few more points of power.

PVP tends to be a very fickle market.  If you live on a server that has an active PVP grouping then it can be a goldmine to print your own money.  But if you live on a server that has a weaker PVP system then it can be much more difficult to conquer.  Just keep an eye on the PTR notes and look to see where the wind blows.

Change Of Scenery

Mommar here.

The curse of autopilot tends to fall on every player at one point or another.   Repetition can be very useful when it comes to making gold in wow.   Reposting of glyphs that didn't sell one day,  weapon and armor enchants,  purchased blues and epics for flipping options.   There is nothing wrong with these autopilot techniques to be able to make gold on a daily basis.

But occasionally that change in scenery is needed to throw off your competition.   I have players that are determined to shoot me in the foot simply for the fact that it is a personal feather in their cap.   Anytime someone is successful in their field then someone has painted a target on them.   It is a part of the game and
should be considered a personal medal of achievment.

It is one of the reasons that most players do not know my alternate characters.  And just at what auction house they are parked at.   A little research might be able to find them from the armory,  but the odds are players are not going to take that time.   Having multiple toons playing the auction house can confuse your competition into thinking there is more than one player in the game.

Lets take glyphs for instance.  I've always used the wall pasting technique.   Through a basic search function I see any glyphs that are selling for over 50g,  those are what I list for my profits for that day.  I craft them or look at my back stock.   Then I will take half of those and send them to one of my alts for listing.  This may seem like an extra step of work,  but it prevents most players from seeing just one active player in the glyph game.   Two players can become a force to others.

Sites such as The Undermine Journal at the press of button can tell exactly what one player has listed.   But if they go with just that search your competition will not see the multiple auctions that you have listed under other alternates.

Controlling your market and a simple change of scenery can throw the wolves off your trail and keep them from targeting your goals for the kill.

Cruising Around

This weekend I decided to do something different.    On my home server I have 10 base slots filled with all my professions and a few toy toons,  including a couple of them holding down guild banks etc.   At this point I didn't want to invest the money to start a new account and merge it with my battlenet account.

But I hadn't really had a chance to try out the Goblin and Worgen starting areas.   One of the best reasons to try out new races is watching the storyline and how they join the horde/alliance.   Both were enjoyable in different ways.

But as I'm running around the different starting areas,   one thing that kept on keeping in my mind was how could I sell to these toons?  It only takes a few moments for both toons to get to a mailbox where items can be xfered from higher level toons to lower level toons.   Enchants,  boosting,  bags sold to both the new players and even old players who are shocked at having 6 slot bags in their inventory again.

With Mists of Panderia internal alpha just being introduced,  the storm of information will be fast approaching.   We know at sometime during the quests the player will decide to go either alliance or horde.   The gold goblin in me wants to know how to get my items into players hands as soon as possible.

Also during this time I started looking for grinding spots.   Was there anyplace I could let my mage go wild
and pick up easy gold,   and easy materials.  How quickly could I get those back on the market to sell?

Another thought that came to mind was how quickly could I get twink weapons and items into people's hands.      The stats are still weighed low through azeroth so an item that has a +15 agi enchant ([Enchant Weapon - Agility]) into a twink players hot little hands?.

So this would seem like it's obvious to many gold goblins.   But with the mysteries of how communication will happen with the opening quests with the pandas,   it will be the crumbs of information we search for that will break our strategies wide open.

What questions would you like to know in regards to the starting areas of MOP?

Good luck and good hunting
