Hey Goblins, it's Mommar.
Two more days of gameplay til it all changes again. With Blizzard seemingly determined to make changes on a daily if not hourly basis, gaming life is going to become fun. A quick checklist of things to make sure you've taken care of before the server start and patching for 5.0.4
- Convert all your Blackfallow Ink to other inks
The Ink converter at the home city (Orgrimmar/Stormwind) is going to be changing to the new conversion for ink (Starlight Ink). So between Thursday's patch and the opening of the Pandaria gates Blackfallow Ink will be readily available.
- DE or Vendor Relics and items used to craft them.
The Relic Slot disappears with Mists of Pandaria. And any item that is slotted for the Relic Slot will become gray.
- Hunters lose their melee weapon slots.
This will make one less outlet for those swords with agility on them (rogues) or maces. So keep an eye on them in your inventory knowing you don't have poor hunters to sell too. Also keep an eye on sellers who are looking to vendor these swords quickly. They might not see the potential of sales to Rogues or even as Disenchant Fodder.
- Keep your add-ons Updated.
This is a general rule whenever a patch is updated. Many developers already have updates to their add-ons available for download. Even after you have patched up the client make sure to download any updates. No one likes to see error messages flash when they first log on.
- Keep your ear to the boards and pages.
Wisdom is found in many places. Not just on one site. Little tidbits can be found that could be the difference between confusion and confidence.
- Keep on buying and stockpiling materials.
I had to disappoint some because of technical problems I didn't get my list of things to save out. There is still going to be 30+ days to save which will give you plenty of time.
- Look at back entries on what to prep.
This is where your knowledge sets you ahead of the rest. Got all your BOA gear ready to send to the new toon? Got bags ready? Got that Gnomish Army Knife ready to put across to the new kid in town? The race starts the minute that your server comes online (expect delays as always). On the right are the keywords that you can look for previous articles on. Good reading while your downloading the patch.
- Lose the Prime of your Glyph Life
One of the big announcements was a shuffling of the Prime slots and glyphs for Mists of Pandaria. They will either become Major/Minor Glyphs with a few becoming faded Glyphs. Your spell book will look different. If you have been out of the Inscription market, this is the perfect time to get started back in. Glyphmas Part II should start with the new patch. Having a large amount of preset glyphs will put you ahead of the game.
- Get ready to have some fun.
The time between the opening patch and the beginning of an expansion is enjoyable. There has been little talk of the world event that brings on an expansion pack. Wrath of the Lich King gave us the Zombie Invasion. Burning Crusade had the all out war in Azeroth. Be ready to have some fun, loot some items and spend some time with friends.
