Patch 5.4: Arise Scribe Arise!!!!!

There have been many times that I've wanted to take medication for my scribe to make gold.   Now I can make gold in any of my professions.   But the amount of work required has been better spent on my other professions.  Whether you choose to use the wall-o-glyph method of listing glyphs or pick your battles on what is hot at that time.  Either method can grind out gold over a long time.

Patch 5.4 being right around the corner could give people a chance to ride the bubble that occurs when new glyphs are introduced.  Players race to fill in the slots that open up in their books,  and with so many players having alt's leveling the chances to jump that gold bubble is highly possible.

I say highly possible because it's still possible these new glyphs won't be brought into patch 5.4 (they are listed at NYI which I would assume probably means Not Yet Implemented).

If they are brought in (with the normal costs and probably learned from one of the vendors) it will be a first come first serve on the Auction House or Trade Chat to sell.

The list of the new glyphs includes:

Unknown (probably one Paladin and One Rogue)

Glyph of the Headhunter (Rogue?)
Glyph of Pillar of Light  (Paladin?)

Mage
Glyph of the Unbound Elemental

Monk
Glyph of Detox
Glyph of Expel Harm
Glyph of Fortuitous Spheres
Glyph Of Nimble Brew
Glyph of Rapid Rolling\

Paladin
Glyph of Divine Shield
Glyph of Devotion Aura
Glyph of Hand of Sacrifice
Glyph of the Exorcist

Priest
Glyph of Inspired Hymns

Rogue
Glyph of Improved Distraction

Warlock
Glyph of Curse of the Elements
Glyph of Havoc
Glyph of Unending Resolve

Warrior
Glyph of Impaling Throws
Glyph of the Executor
Glyph of the Raging Whirlwind
Glyph of the Subtle Defender
Glyph of the Watchful Eye
Glyph of the Weaponmaster
Glyph of Victorious Throw

There is a mix of different glyphs in per class with Warrior and Monk get the most scribe loving.  If these are brought out this will give a nice boost for the opening two weeks of the new patch.  Letting things die down to the normal gold grind that happens once the majority of people have filled up their scribe books.

Now is a good time to start farming materials from either normal means or off the auction house.  Having a good supply of ink to craft from the start will get you ahead of the game.

Patch 5.4 brings out a lot of interest in what could be the final patch for Mists of Pandaria.   Time to get ready for a Garrosh sized bun whooping.

Patch 5.3: Preparing for the Arrival

Mommar here

The powers that be announced in a tweet (yes,   people still tweet in this world and not just Kanye) that the new patch (patch 5.3) would drop on the 22nd of May.

Good news for those that are looking for new content and new opportunities.   Bad news for those that dislike new and shiny things.   If you haven't started downloading the patch in the background make sure to turn on your Wow starter screen before you go to bed tonight.

Between now and then will be a great time to pick up a few items to prepare for the oncoming patch storm.  There were very few direct changes to professions other than the mining and Herbalism.   With new heroic scenarios,  pvp battlegrounds and other changes this is going to feel more like a maintenance patch at first than a huge influx of content.

For the gold goblin in all of us there will be opportunities to flex our fingers and get to the gold grabbing.   New equipment always means new chances to sell item enhancements.   So having a good stockpile of enchanting supplies and raw materials (Living Steel,  Magnificant Hides) for patches will set you up.  Don't forget your conversions so that you're not just buying Hides at high prices when you can convert lower leathers to what you want.

50 exotic leathers = 1 magnificent hide
1 daily Magnificance of Leather/Scales gives you the same Magnificent hide at half the cost (25)

If you're like me,  the Jewelcrafting market has been steady but not stellar.  Most of this is from the big 4 gems (+agi,  +str +int +stam) been up and down like a yo-yo for sales.  Just when I flip the market to a good price I like (200-250 per) someone runs in to quickly undercut it at drastic prices.   So in my bank there are a few extra red gems that need a good home.   Keeping an eye on sales and seeing just where the market rolls will let you get rid of some excess inventory.

Inscription is going to be an interesting beast to keep an eye on.  As I explained earlier with the introduction of the third specialization for their characters,  players are going to want to fill holes in their glyph book so that they can be a triple threat (tanking,  dps, pvp) or any other mixture.   The inscription market is depressed so it will be tricky to decide whether to craft/flip glyphs for players to purchase.  Or to just take the profits from other professions and walk away.   Keeping an eye on the secondary markets (herbs, alchemy) to see just what happens with their relationship to inscriptions.

Excitement is always in the air with a new patch.  And new adventures await for the brave who take the plunge into new markets.   Keep your eyes on the prize and see you on the other side.

Change Of Scenery

Mommar here.

The curse of autopilot tends to fall on every player at one point or another.   Repetition can be very useful when it comes to making gold in wow.   Reposting of glyphs that didn't sell one day,  weapon and armor enchants,  purchased blues and epics for flipping options.   There is nothing wrong with these autopilot techniques to be able to make gold on a daily basis.

But occasionally that change in scenery is needed to throw off your competition.   I have players that are determined to shoot me in the foot simply for the fact that it is a personal feather in their cap.   Anytime someone is successful in their field then someone has painted a target on them.   It is a part of the game and
should be considered a personal medal of achievment.

It is one of the reasons that most players do not know my alternate characters.  And just at what auction house they are parked at.   A little research might be able to find them from the armory,  but the odds are players are not going to take that time.   Having multiple toons playing the auction house can confuse your competition into thinking there is more than one player in the game.

Lets take glyphs for instance.  I've always used the wall pasting technique.   Through a basic search function I see any glyphs that are selling for over 50g,  those are what I list for my profits for that day.  I craft them or look at my back stock.   Then I will take half of those and send them to one of my alts for listing.  This may seem like an extra step of work,  but it prevents most players from seeing just one active player in the glyph game.   Two players can become a force to others.

Sites such as The Undermine Journal at the press of button can tell exactly what one player has listed.   But if they go with just that search your competition will not see the multiple auctions that you have listed under other alternates.

Controlling your market and a simple change of scenery can throw the wolves off your trail and keep them from targeting your goals for the kill.

Patch 3.1.2 Notes - Glyph of Rapid Charge

Glyph of Rapid Charge changed from 20% to 7% (3 seconds to 1.05 seconds).

If you want to make some money you'd be wise to sell all major pvp glyphs that warriors will replace this one with such as mortal strike, rend, and sweeping strikes.

Glyph of Innervate has been greatly improved to give the druid 90% of his/her mana over 20 seconds. However, most druids probably have this glyph already.
