Every two years, Blizzard bestows upon us an expansion to the greatest MMORPG on the planet. We receive endless updates, months of anticipation and days of prognosticating all for that one magical moment when the servers reset, and the game is changed forever.

But, three days in, after power leveling through all the new content, checking out a dozen new dungeons and failing to sleep more than a few hours, you realize something... you’re flat broke.

You've spent too much gold leveling "the new profession", buying out mats at ridiculous prices on the Auction House. Or because Blizzard just came out with a new gold sink, this certain epic mount for xx,xxx gold.

All that time before the expansion and what were you doing? Reading blog posts, watching videos, talking on forums, and rerunning old raids?

Not this time.

Mists of Pandaria Secrets is every budding Panda's wet dream - a legendary gamer's quest to compile the latest and greatest tips and strategies to dominating the upcoming expansion and it's creator Hubert Richardson sent me a personal invite to the Members Area for a quick look-see....

My Thoughts....

By any standard, this project is MASSIVE and Hubert assures me that even more content will be put up once Mists of Pandaria is launched and the content starts trickling in.

Bear in mind that MoP Secrets is currently at it's infancy stage - many aspects of the game cannot be dealt with in it's entirety- but Hubert is doing a great job of preparing novice and advanced players alike for the inevitable launch in 4 days time.

Presentation-wise, the writing style is accessible and easy to read with vivid pictures and a clean and crisp user interface. Navigating through the Members Area was a breeze.

At the end of the day, no amount of showboating about your countless achievements in the game can compensate for the lack of substance or a failure to convey your knowledge to your target audience.

I don't care if you are teaching someone about the finer points of Auction House strategy or the little tweaks that can expedite the leveling process. The content has to be cutting-edge, accessible and practical.

In this regard, MoP Secrets is a true revelation. Hubert is zealously focused on taking the tactics and strategies that made him one of the best players in Cataclysm and making sure that it remains relevant post-Mists of Pandaria.

I tried really hard but ultimately I couldn't find anything I could realistically disagree with and actually learned a thing or two myself. As a long-time player who has been playing ever since Burning Crusade, I believe that speaks volumes about the guide.

Conclusion.

I don't usually write guide reviews  - who wants to spend more money when they pay a monthly fee already - but for the sheer amount of time you save and the understanding of the game you will gain, you could do a lot worse than giving this guide a look-see.

The Complete Elitist Guide Collection

Long time readers of the site will notice that we're not huge fans of promoting non-gold related guides and have turned down many requests through the years. However, this time is different. Each of the 10 character classes bring something different to the table, with their own distinct strengths and weaknesses and players need to adopt different strategies to make the most out of their characters.

You will learn the secrets to correctly building your character's talents, skill executions and gear, and this is exactly what you will learn in Jason's guide. This aspect of the game is just as important as learning how to level fast, make tons of gold and this is the building block towards attaining the results you want in the battlegrounds or the end-game gear in the game.

2. What Can I Expect From Elitist Guides?


By any standard, Elitist Guide is massive. There is literally hours upon hours of manuals and tutorials that will run through the whole process of learning and eventually mastering your class.

Nothing is left out, and Jason takes you by the hand, revealing the smallest details about your class from picking the right build for every situation, knowing the appropriate items and gear for your class, its respective strengths and weaknesses... literally everything is no show here. It's nearly foolproof!

In fact, I picked up a couple of pointers about my Druid and noticed an immediate improvement in my DPS in my weekly guild run the next day. In terms of presentation, the writing style is light and easy to read with many detailed diagrams, vivid pictures and a clean and crisp user interface.

3. Strategies That Are Timeless and Game-Breaking

It reminds me so much of JMTC's gold guide in that it forces you to sit back and think through your actions and not just feeding you the correct play but more importantly, why its right (or wrong.)

Final Verdict


I tried really hard but ultimately I couldn't find anything I could realistically disagree with and actually learned a thing or two myself. As a long-time player who has been present since Beta, I believe that speaks volumes about the quality of the guide. As exposed as I am to the myriad ways of earning gold in the game, Jason is vastly more experienced in the other aspects of WoW.

He managed to capture all the detail I've always looked for in a class guide, and he managed to make it simple, accessible and effective, eliminating the interminable volume of useless fluff that is present in most other guides.

I don't recommend these products often - who wants to spend more money when they pay a monthly fee already - but for the sheer amount of time you save and the understanding of the class you will gain, you could do a lot worse than giving this guide a look-see.

Markco: Hey Gold Queen this is Markco from JustMyTwoCopper.org.  I recently received a copy of your Teen Gold Guide and you know what, I actually really liked it so I thought I'd send you an mp3 with a bunch of questions that you could answer regarding how this guide could benefit my audience.

Question 1.  Most guides focus on push button strategies that usually dont last all that long or are ruined once more than a handful of people use them. How is your guide different from most guides?

TGQ: The first biggest mistake anyone can make about teenagers is that they're not smart.  I have an 11 year old son Brandon and he outsmarts me sometimes.  He doesn't want a list of limited supply items to buy or a map of where to find the best fish, he's quite well aware of how to google that!

His problems on world of warcraft are that he doesn't have the right collection of tools to make his own strategies, he's heard of addons and he's smart enough to install them, but doesn't know how to put them to work together.   

And of course, he doesn't have 6 years experience playing wow that gives you the instincts about which things are a good deal, and he doesn't have a lot of play time in which to learn this.
The other thing he does that I have had to help him with is that he just wants to constantly spend spend spend.  He knows gold won't drop from the sky into his lap and he's not lazy, he'll go out and farm or do some quests to get some, but when I check out his character, he's pimped it to the max with gear that will get replaced next week and he's out of gold again. Argh!! its so frustrating.

Patch 4.1.0 Gold Tips

The wow gold guide has seen one of its largest updates yet, with over five pages of content added by none other than Alto from Alto's Goldish Advice. For current gold guide members, now is a good time to go check out the new chapter on Patch 4.1.0 gold tips. Afterwards, and if you haven't done so yet, you should take a look at Alto's blog as well as his gold making mini-guide which is actually an excellent complimentary guide to 20k Leveling.

Alto Who?

So who is Alto and why should he be updating the content of 20k Leveling for patch 4.1.0? First off, Alto is a millionaire in wow, and the speed at which he has learned his craft has been impressive to say the least. He has mastered every profession and created systems with addons that make him a pro at all aspects of making gold in wow. What I like most about Alto, and the reason I decided to ask him to be the primary updater for 20k Leveling, is the way he has taken my methods and improved upon them in his own unique way. You can see in his writing on his blog where my previous writings have influenced him, but over time he has also come to develop his own unique voice and system for making gold in wow.

I am very excited to have Alto on the team here at Just My Two Copper and will be looking forward to having him make additional updates to 20k leveling with new patches and any upcoming changes to the auction house, along with my own additions to the guide.

A Rift in Readership?

Hey guys, it's Markco again! Today I have something that is a little off key but it is a review that I feel needs to be done for this audience. Every single day I see people leaving wow for rift, in fact, over the course of the past three weeks over two hundred subscribers have unsubscribed and left a note similar to "Quit Wow for Rift." You may remember how prior to the release of Rift, JMTC was growing at an incredible rate and to be honest the rate of new subscribers has not changed at all, but the number of people unsubscribing for rift has taken its toll on our growth here.

Since so many of you have either left wow, will leave wow or are going to play both wow and rift, I decided to get in touch with one of the few online marketers I actually trust and asked him to develop a Rift leveling guide. It is incredible the number of dishonest guide authors out there who prey on new players in order to make some money. If only these marketers put some time and effort into their products then they would really be successful without having to rely on the uninformed members of a community. This is why I have entrusted Chris to write, record and manage a new Rift guide called Rift Supremacy.

Rift Supremacy Review

Many of you have purchased and enjoyed my own guide for making gold in wow known as 20k Leveling and it probably blew the pants off any other guide you ever purchased online previously (FYI: A large number of updates to 20k leveling are coming after 4.1). There were videos, written walkthroughs,  images, audio commentary and a free membership for all updates. Hey guys and girls, I know I said I wouldn't be a major contributor for JMTC anymore, but I just couldn't help myself with another post! I'll make myself more scarce in the future though for those haters of my style haha. Thank you to all the commenters on my farewell post, I appreciate them greatly.

Ok, so I have to first off apologize to Cold from Cold's Gold Factory and Wes from Capped by Cata. I'm about to overwhelm their awesome podcast which they've worked so hard on to put together. They are going to get more fan mail, more comments and more listeners than they know what to deal with.

Sometimes I feel like I am standing over a cannon with a lit fuse and it's just a matter of deciding who to aim at with regards to directing this audience towards a worthwhile website or resource. Especially when that link deals with a free auction house resource. I love this job haha.

Cataclysm Gold Making For All Skill Levels

The past few years have been a wonderfully rewarding experience as I've worked tirelessly on more projects related to this site than I can count. I've spoken with so many of you and had the opportunity to answer thousands of questions you've all been willing to ask me over twitter, facebook, youtube, JMTC, the forums, podcast comments or just plain email. Over time I have compiled my solutions to all your gold making problems into the extensive 20k Leveling gold guide. It's probably the only guide on the market that can truly claim to be written by an expert in the field. I mean really, who else out there among guide writers can claim to have maintained the attention of thousands upon thousands of auctioneers through blogging and other social media activities? It's one thing to claim you're the best, it's another to live it and actually improve people's game play experience on a daily basis.
