Trick or Treat JMTC Style

It's the last day of the All Hallows Eve event for World of Warcraft.   Trick or treaters will abound outside tonight,   searching for candy to consume.

Here at JMTC Iowa branch we have our pumpkins hanging out in a row.  Spiderwebs on the doors and scary noises coming form inside (the scary noises are generally there every day in the year).

In Azeroth today is the last day to pick up your Trick Or Treat Pandaria as well as the other achievements for grabbing the baskets all over the known Warcraft world.   Just keep in mind that some of the candy pumpkins are hidden behind areas that need to be unveiled via quest lines   So lower level players might find it difficult to complete the achievements.

Do not forget to grab the Grim Visage buff for any of your toons that your leveling.   Also include any of your players that you haven't brought onto the field of battle yet.   Buffs such as these only tick down when your online with them.  Having this buff when your ready to start leveling the backup band will become helpful as you continue through Pandaria.

Readers of JMTC gave me a treat of my own.  After reading For Whom Does the Songbell Toll I received multiple emails reminding me that you could plant a crop to obtain the quest completion from Farmer Yoon,  then scrub the crop and plant your Songbell for the day.   This can allow you to continue to obtain the daily reputation points from Farmer Yoon while still giving you access to crops that you might find more useful (Including Songbells).

Have a safe halloween,  enjoy candy and scare a few adults.   And wear your masks,  gold goblin masks are the preferred mask of course.

Good Luck and Good Haunting

Steel Negotiations

When travelling through the twists and turns of tradechat,  many times players will see advertisements to sell their Living Steel alchemist transmute.

This can be a lucrative business by itself.   Prices ranging from 200g to 450g using their materials.  It's a quick profit that doesn't require the use of the auction house.   But there are always a few questions that pop up from time to time.

If your a transmute specialist you have the chance of transmuting more than one Living Steel each time.   Many players will watch on their general category tab to see what is actually transmuted in the chance that theirs is an extra item produced.  In some players mine they feel that the extra item is theirs since it was their materials used to produce the Living Steel

As the crafter of the item you have every right to offer them the item they paid for and keep the proceeds.  Whether in a production setting 24 candy bars are produced or 36 candy bars are produced the price remains the same per candy bar.  The same with other options in a production setting.  The consumer is paying for the item itself.

But there is a train of thought that continues to the idea that the buyer is paying for your time.  The production item is the reward for paying for your time.   As the Gold Goblin code says,  time is money.

The best idea is to make sure that you have this understood ahead of time before you transmute anything.  If you are barking in trade chat to sell your transmute,  use the idea that any extra items transmuted can be sold to the player at a discount.  They pay for the timer at 400g,  any extras would be available for sale to them at 250g a piece extra.   This may seem like a loss to some.  But in a highly competitive market,  any extra gold can add up quickly. (This applies specifically to Transmute specialists)

The other key to being successful in this area of sales is to keep an eye on the competition.   Players will start a quick bidding war for the transmutes.  Rates begin to drop like stone from 500g to 400g to 300g attempting to get a consumers attention.   Don't get caught in a bidding war so that you start to cut into profits.   Your baseline profit margin should always be available.  If you can get 350g profit from the auction house from listing your item,  that should be your cut off point to sell the timer itself.   Otherwise you are letting someone else dictate your profit margins.

Barking your Alchemist timer in trade can be very beneficial to your Gold Goblin Profit line.  Knowing the balance between profit and ease can put you on top of the negotiations.

For Who Does the Songbell Toll

Mommar here.

Much of my crafting life seems to be wrapped around the collection of Spirits of Harmony and daily quests.    One of the faults with World of Warcraft is that with the varied amount of things to do with the game,  a certain amount of farming is required to be successful.

A friend of the journal read my discussions and pointed out something to me.   Once you hit Revered with the Tillers that there is a a plant that can be harvested for Motes of Harmony.

Being someone who can admit that I miss things from time to time I wanted to explore this to see if there was an advantage to using this seed.

Revered with the tillers can take up to two weeks to obtain.   By this time you should have 12 slots available to plant.   Your daily planting from Farmer Yoon will eat up a minimum of 1 of these slots to continuing building reputation with Farmer Yoon and the tillers.

So this gives s 11 slots to plant our Songbell plants.  Each of these plants offer us 1 Mote of Harmony per plot.   Planting this way will give you 1 Spirit of Harmony per day.   On rare days you will be able to harvest your crop immediately

The biggest concern with this strategy is that it will seriously slow down your ability to obtain crops through anything but  purchasing through Auction House or drops from Beasts/Humanoids in selected areas.  Also unless you continue to plant Farmer Yoon's request his reputation gains will falter as well.

Half way between revered and exalted with the tillers your farm will expand to 16 slots.   This gives you access to a full Spirit of Harmony and 6 Motes of Harmony per day.   If food is not as necessary to you on a daily basis for cooking then obtaining a spirit of harmony for a few minutes work is a good trade off.

Farming mobs in specific areas will still over the long haul offer you more opportunities to obtain crafting supplies such as Motes of Harmony.   But planting your crops with Songbell is also a viable method to farm these same materials.

The gang at Icy-Veins.com have an excellent guide that will walk you through The Tillers reputation and how to maximize your daily gains with the farmers.

Farming has become a major part of World of Warcraft during the Pandarian campaign.   Taking advantage of your time and effort will allow you to be on top of your own crop piles.   Throwing fruit at the other Gold Goblins.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

To Level 90.. And Beyond!!!!!!

Many players will end up hitting 90 without finishing all of the quests offered in Mists of Pandaria.   After hitting 90,  getting geared up for raiding and scenerios.  Dailies start to unlock and the joys of World of Farmcraft begin.

But then whats stopping someone from continuing and finishing all the quests?  There are a couple of very good reasons that you should look to finish everything up in the Pandarian continent.

1.   The Lore

Some of the best lore happens in the Dread Waste.   You learn exactly why you should be helping the Klaxxi in the future.   Plus the developers worked very hard on writing an excellent script.   Stop and smell the roses,  or plants or whatever that bush is that they want me to pick next.

2.   You like Gold Right?

As with all the previous expansions,   your gold from quest turn ins are doubled once you hit level 90.   And who doesn't like to get 20-30g per turnin.   Plus with the chances for Bind on Equip drops and item turn ins for vendoring/disenchanting it's free gold.

3.   Spirits of Harmony

For Mastercraft items you will need to farm Spirits of Harmony.  There are many areas in both the Dread Waste and Vale of Eternal Blossom hold excellent sources of farming areas.   Mass amount of beasts and humanoids that spawn one on top of the other.   Each kill will add both to your gold and also your chances of having enough Spirits of Harmony to craft any recipe you want.

4.   Access to higher level equipment.

There is a heavy cost of crafting epic items in Mists of Pandaria.   Blood Spirit is a costly materials to collect for ilvl 496 items.  With the changes for looking for raids disenchanting (no longer will LFR items DE into Blood Spirit it will be even longer before these become common.   The Klaxxi in Dread Waste give access to ilvl 489 level items at Revered which will set you very well into Raid categories.   Finishing the quests in Dread Waste will get you to Honored and unlock another set of Dailies.

5.   Elite rares around this area.

Mists of Pandaria opened up a different type of Elites.  Instead of just being bigger and badder than other mobs,  they gave each of them different abilities.   The Elites in both Dread Wastes and Vale of Eternal Blossoms have some of the most elaborate elites.   They also drop some of the most interesting loot including cooking feasts and rare supplies.

Instead of being bored in your home city,  look to finish up the quests in all the areas of Mists of Pandaria.  Come for the lore,  enjoy the gold and the sites.  And if you see me out there,  wave me in for a good elite kill.  I will bring the beer (root beer of course).

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Tales of Gold Goblin Bully

I've always choosen to use my powers of gold making for good.  Too often do I see or hear people flexing their muscles over how much gold they have (this always entails the idea of flexing over how much dps they do in an instance etc).

But every so often that little sneaky flexing comes out and I have to put someone into their place.   Whether it's to defeat the personal ego boss that someone has become.   Since the introduction of the BMAH this has happened more often than not.

My guild tends to keep us all informed on whats available at the Black Market Auction House.  So if a good idea pops up and someone really wants it we can go and bid.  Sometimes it's a little bit of a scuffle to stop being polite (you bid on it,  no you bid on it.  You really want it etc) but we work it out like a band of brothers and sisters should.

In this case the X 51 Nether-Rocket X-Treme was up for bid.   This is the two person mount that you obtain from the trading card game.   Mounts generally don't spark my interest but in this case I had wanted a two seater flying mount similar to this.   So I decided to send up one of my alternates to the tavern to bid with some gold in their pocket.

With about 30 minutes left I sat there and watched the bid start to climb.   It was already at 33000g and a few were hanging around Madam Goya looking for a cheap buy.   The price started to climb up by increments of 5000g.   A player popped up and bid 55000g and started to try to shoo players from bidding (not sure how that was going to work since my server is PVE server).   I could swear that this player (who was alliance) was throwing the World of Warcraft version of a hissy fit.   The time started to click down and I had a good idea when the auction would end.  I started to jump the bid up by increments of 1000g (Okay, truth be told I was having fun frustrating this player and his tantrum de jour).

About 5 minutes left before the auction was done I dropped the hammer on the auction and bid what I intended to pay for the item.   You could almost hear the sign of disapproval as my opponent left the field of auctioneer battle.  Others came to Goya to get a cheap trinket or mount only to run away in disgust.   The auction ticked completed and I went over to the mailbox to pick up my newly found mount.

As has been tradition with all of my mounts I stripped off all of my gear and did a grand tour of all of the major cities in my loincloth and a smile.   Enjoying my newly won prize and the story I could tell as I toured around the world enjoying the view.

Good luck and Good Hunting

Chess Pieces Taking The Field

I have played chess all my life.    Chess is one of those games that stays with you mentally and changes the way that you view life in general.   Whether it is the small maniacal voice in my head that says everyone is a chess piece.  Or viewing life as who takes the field and what strategies need to be in place to be at an optimum level for life.

Your alternate toons are very similar to how good chess players view the field of battle on the board.  Your main toons end up being your King and Queen.  Your alternate crafters are often your bishops and rooks and even some of your players end up being placed in the space of pawns.

Any good chess player will tell you that you have to be looking 3-5 moves ahead as you are moving your pieces.  Planning and executing your strategy puts you in the mind set to allow you to win the game in the end.

The Gold Goblin view of winning is that your goals are accomplished.  Even if your goals are simply to have enough gold to be able to repair or buy an item that you want.  Goals become your end game as you prepare another toon to take the field of crafting battle.

In the game of Gold Goblin chess there are also sacrifices to put yourself into a better position.   Sometimes you just do not have the time to place all of your auctions to sell.   That sacrifice of possible sales becomes more precious as you look at what will sell for the most profit and what will have to sit in the bank for another day.

Time becomes just as important as planning.  When you have reached level 90 and start your daily grinds of reputation and rewards for your mains.  Obtaining valor points and items to get you geared up for raiding with friends or Looking for Raid groups.   Each move on the chess board becoming that much more important to not waste your time or resources for fools errands.

So look at what your next move is going to be.  Who will be the next profession to be at max level.   Do you take the slow route and level with easier to acquire resources or burn all of your more valuable assets to obtain access to more valuable

A Gold Goblin is always placing their pieces on the field to put themselves at the best strategic position they can.   To obtain more gold, to finish up their goals and to enjoy the game of World of Warcraft.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

When Numbers Lie

Mommar here.

Many of my resources when working the auction house in wow is based on add-ons.  I use add-ons to make crafting of items easier,  to tell me what is in my inventory on different toons and even obtaining information from off site pricing listings such as Theunderminejournal.com.

Would I be able to function without these?   Probably,  but then I would have to depend more on hard research than at the fingers information.  Which can be a blessing and a curse.

I was posting up items on my bank toon and had a couple of Prospector's Woolies in my inventory.  Much to my interest my add-on (http://tradeskillmaster.com/) was listing these at a value between 3500 and 4500g a piece.   That's a nice chunk of change for a low level item.   So looking at a little research I found that it was part of a semi popular transmog set Gypsy Garb (Recolored).

This definitely peaked my interest because transmog sets do sell from time to time.   So I listed the item at a 'discounted' price of 3500g.   12 hours later I relisted it for 3500g again.   Relisted the item for 3500g after 12 hours ad nauseum(you get the point).

Does this mean that it will fail to  sell for 3500g at some point    I'm a very patient person and 3500g is worth a lot of relisting.  But it did spark something in my brain about the price listing that some addons will show.   At the beginning of Mists of Pandaria there were many level 87-88 items that were being priced at 50,000g or even more.  One of my guild mates was lucky enough to obtain one of these and was asking how much to price it at.    Offering my supposed wisdom on the item I suggested he ignore what the add-on price offered and put it at a reasonable amount of gold.   The item later sold for 10,000g and he pocketed the amount.   Could he have received the 50,000g that the item was supposedly worth?  Maybe,  but it was a long shot that players would want to spend that much gold for an item that would be replaced relatively quickly as they reached level 90.

Accurate information is the plank that a gold goblin will create their view of the auctioning world.  Accurate information can come from many sources.   That information should be processed by a gold goblins wisdom and past experience.   So when something doesn't quite seem to fit,  the odds are that it doesn't.   So when that big bonus item drops into your lap,  look at the numbers and see if they are really telling the truth.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Arrow to the Knee

A Half Hobbled Mommar here.

As my guild was running around doing some easy raids to get back into the teamwork function of playing,  someone had made a joke about dying and getting an 'arrow in the knee'.

I found this more amusing than I probably should have.  About a year and a half ago I was in a car accident that damaged my left knee.    Not a big thing but over the next year it got steadily worse and worse.   So yesterday I ended up having a knee scope to help clear up some of the damage.   It was a day procedure but I came home and started recovery.

So why do I tell you about this?   Because no matter what you see in the game of Warcraft   That hot looking troll dancing on the mailbox for tips,  or that mouthy toad in trade chat that's egging on for attention.   You never know the story that someone might be carrying with them behind the keyboard.

People will be people no matter what you do and how you react.   The reaction that comes normal might be exactly what they are looking for.  Craving the attention both good and bad as long as it's directed towards them.   It's a nature of the beast when it comes to playing a social game.  How you react to their demands is what is revealed about your character.

This isn't myself climbing on my soapbox and preaching to the masses.  That isn't my style.  But every so often I want people to see Warcraft not just for a pixel infested micro society.  I want them to view it in different ways.  For some it's a way to escape the pain of having to recover from an injury,  or to be able to enjoy some relaxation from a stressful life.   For some it can be an addiction that has to become treated.  But behind every person that we want to call 'noob' or 'moron',  there lives someone that is just like us.

Just keep this in mind that as we progress through Mists of Pandaria and beyond,  we truly are in this all together whether we like it or not.   So keep your head in the game and sometimes,  saying nothing might be saying more than is necessary.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Putting Your Listings On A Diet

Hey gang.

As we continue on our experiences with Mists of Pandaria sales can become bogged down due to needing to relist over and over again.   The monotonous challenges of listing the same item 5-10 times to be able to sell one.

Inscription and jewelcrafting can become locked into this repeating bubble.  Especially with items that are no longer in high demand such as mid level Cataclysm gems and armors.   Many gold goblins will list between 500-1000 items at a stretch using either manual clicks or addons to speed up the process.

Regardless of the addons or methods,  each auction listed takes up a little bit more of your time.  If there is one thing that Mists if teaching players,  every minute of their gaming becomes important for the long term goals of the player.

So as your listing your items,  this is a good time to figure out which of your items can be set back for another day of listing.  Which items should you go ahead and sell at an extreme discount or even vendor for your time.

Here is my challenge.  For the next 5 days time yourself on just how long it takes you to list all of your repeat items.   Keep track of it on a piece of paper and see how long you are spending listing items.  Then take the amount you sell each day and figure out just how much you are making in sales per hour.   This can give you good idea on whether you are spending your time wisely,  or waiting for that 5g profit to come in after having spent half an hour listing non salable items.

The key to being a gold goblin isn't just a mater of knowing what to sell,  and when to sell.  But how much time you should be spending draped over the keyboard selling items.   And this knowledge will give you the leg up on other players who mindlessly list items that have a small chance of selling.

Putting your listings on a diet can make your gold making streamlined and timely in the long run.  And put you on top of the pile ready for another jump at the gold ring.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Must Have Farming Equipment

There are many things that go into the needs for a farmer.   From having the time and the areas that are good to farm,  having the right equipment can give you an advantage over others.

One of these is from the engineering school of professions,  the Mist Piercing Goggles.   These goggles can sit in your inventory and increase your ability to find nodes for both mining and herbs.  For engineers this is a nice money maker since the item is BOE and can have the bottleneck cost of the two Spirits of Harmony required to craft.

Blizzard changed the way that farmers had to equip themselves.  Giving bonuses to the tools needed instead of making them required tools.    Mining Pick and Skinning Knives are still valuable with their +10 bonuses to the skill levels.   These bonuses allow players to get to higher level herbs and mining nodes faster.

With Mists of Pandaria flying not available til 90,  taking advantage of the territory covered with land mounts become that much more important.   Seeing nodes and digging spots for mining and herbalism becomes just as important as getting there quickly.   Where many of the quests in the opening portion of Pandaria quest lines occur around rivers and mountain areas,  the more nodes that become available for picking and mining the better profit margins will become.

As Mists of Pandaria continues,  and high level crafting begins to kick into high gear.   Materials will become more in demand and farmers can lead the way to easy gold.   Just make sure that the items in your bag present you in the best situation to ride the crest of goblin gold making.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

But How Much Is It?

Through most of my life I have worked hourly jobs.  Whether it was through temp agencies or being hired directly.  There is a certain ebb and flow when it comes to punching a time clock and looking at a paycheck that should be just a little bit more.

Many people in today's economy save through different methods.   They drop the money in the bank and never see it again til they need it.  Others will live check to check without any savings at all.  Living on credit cards and hopes for the future.

Warcraft players are no different in how they work with the WOW economy.  Every day their crafters will make gold (their paychecks).   Players dream of what they want and how to obtain these items.   Investments occur that will allow them to obtain more in their daily paychecks to save towards more expensive items.

One of the methods I've always used to save money in my real life is to figure out exactly how much in hourly wages an item would cost.   If I worked for 8 dollars an hour,  then that meal at McDonalds costing me 10 dollars would cost me an hour and a half of work.   An item costing 100 dollars costs me 12-14 hours etc.

The same idea can be applied to your World of Warcraft professions.   That ring on the Black Market Auction House costing 30,000g would cost you at least 10 sales at 3000g profit a piece.   Larger profitable items would cut the amount of sales necessary to obtain the wanted ring.   Each time the cost goes up,  the more necessary your profession masters have to hustle sales and eat up more time
and planning.

I was watching an Auction on the Black Market Auction House last night on my home server.  It was for a heroic ring that dropped from one of the later raid bosses.  The bidding had been bumped up to 110,000g.   For most gold goblins that is a hefty amount to invest for a ring that will be replaced with the next patch.   Many players would sell their guild to have 110,000g in the bank.   Many players will never reach that level in their gaming life.   Not without a lot of work and a little luck.

So the question rides how much is something worth when you purchase it in World of Warcraft?  Each item you buy carries a cost of your time and your effort and even the connection of a sale between players.  With Mists of Pandaria being slightly more difficult to earn gold,  each sale becomes that much more precious to hold onto.  And each amount of gold becomes that much more valuable in the end.

So purchasing wisely becomes just as important as what crafters you level and what items you look to sell.   Keep that in mind when you look to purchase your next shiny item for your character.  What is the true answer to how much something is worth?

Good Luck and Good Hunting

You Just Can't Fix Stupid

Mommar here.

As I was walking in Walmart getting supplies for the weekend (yes even yours truly has to shop time to time) I overheard one of the customer service people saying "you just can't fix stupid".

I will fully admit that the irony hit me full on and as I laughed for the next minute it got my mind thinking.  Is it truly possible to fix stupid when it comes to Warcraft?

Now I have a different definition of stupid when it comes to WOW.  I don't assume that low dps anoints a player as stupid person of the week.   Nor does a misinformed tank who pulls a room while the rest of the party runs for their collective lives out the back door.   These are things that ultimately can be adjusted over time with information and even guild training.

To me stupid in World of Warcraft is someone who knows something is wrong,  but then chooses to do this anyway.   Many players seem to fall into this category when it comes to looting items in dungeons.   Classes that have multiple specs will run into this multiple times.  A tank that is working on gearing for dps for their guild will roll on either tank items or dps items for the class.   Classes that can't equip and item useful rolling for a trinket etc.

Remember,   everyone has the right to technically play the game as they choose.   Just sit in one of the major cities and about every 20 minutes someone is announcing that another player is a "ninja",  attempting to get the mob formed for a verbal lynching in trade chat.  When this happens I will usually break out the popcorn and see where the line forms.

But in all reality is this behavior truly stupid?   There is no set rules by Blizzard when it comes to gearing up or loot.   They have adjusted the need/greed/pass rolls so that Need rolls are not available to classes that cannot equip something can no longer need on an item.   Raids have been adjusted so that there is a better chance for a person to receive a specific item to their class than just a random worthless vendor item.

As I logged on yesterday to run a couple of instances a couple of items popped up that would be nice to use.    In one of the groups there was a Paladin that had queued up as a tank.   He was polite and honest that he was gearing up for an off spec.   When a nice pair of boots dropped he asked me if i was rolling need on them (I ended up rolling on them cause i was running around with some early Pandarian green boots).  We had a quick chat about both being from vanilla wow and how common sense and politeness had left the building early.

So getting back to my original statement,  can stupid be fixed?  Unfortunately no.   It isn't really possible to completely adjust a players behavior when it comes to loot rules and fundamental play style.   There is just too many opportunities for players to be petty and greedy instead of looking at the entire picture.  Whether the logic is that they have run the same instance 100's of times,  or just that they need the item now.

There was an undocumented 'feature' with the release of Mists of Pandaria that compressed the loot rolls.  Originally you just had to look at the general tab to see what everyone rolled.  Now it just shows the winner of the roll.   If you want to know what everyone rolled type /loot or click on [Loot] in the window.   This should give you a good idea of just what to expect from other players.   If a plate wearer is rolling need on all plate items,  keep that in mind that he is probably gearing for either main spec or off spec.  The same goes for other classes and rolls.   Being polite and asking them to roll main spec might be very valuable to your time and effort.  If they decide that belligerence is a good response,  there are always other instances to run and other ways to obtain gear.

There really is no easy solution to this other than to voice displeasure and even leaving the instance.  But keep in mind that it's only gear.  And ultimately you will upgrade to another peace as you continue through Pandaria and beyond.   Where it can suck to swallow your irritation,  it saves on the blood pressure.  Just keep in mind that the behavior you expect from others,   should be expected from you as well.  Otherwise someone might want to try to fix you.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Trick or Treat Time

Its that time again.    Hallow's end is here for all the trick or treaters.   Hallow's end is my 2nd most favorite holiday of the Warcraft year (you just can't beat Brewfest for the beer).

Not much has changed this year.   The weapons and gear are of ilvl 470 quality and the minimum level requirement is 89 to get into the headless horseman fight.   As always this is a good chance to get some raid quality gear for a few minutes of work.

Also added this year is the Pandaria trick or treat baskets.  Trick or treating has arrived in Pandaria.   The geniuses at Ice-veins.com have written up a good guide for all the events during Hallow's End.

One thing to keep in mind with the Pandarian buckets is that if you haven't done the quest hubs in that area the bucket might be phased out.  This will obviously be a problem for lower levels that are looking for chances to gain quick xp.

As always wand charges will be popular,  though ever year since their introduction there have become more and more scarce opportunities for sales.   This might be your year to give back to the gang and give some free wand shots.  Yes,  I know.  sacrilegious to many gold goblins but still it's only a few gold.   For those starting out their gold goblin questing this is the best opportunity to obtain gold between wand shots and running out for trick or treat gold.

The new pandarian trick or treat bucket coordinates are

Vale of Eternal 35 78 Mistfall Village
Vale of Eternal 87 64 Shrine of Seven Stars (inside at innkeeper)

Townlong Steppes 71 58 Longying Outpost

Kun-Lai Summit 54 83 Westwind Rest Kun-Lai Summit 62 29 Zouchin Village Kun-Lai Summit 64 61 The Grummle Bazaar Kun-Lai Summit 57 60 One Keg

Dread Wastes 56 32 Klaxxi's-vess Dread Wastes 55 71 Soggy's Gamble

There are two pets that are available during the holiday

Feline Familiar
Sinister Squashling

Both are tradeable so look for many of these to be on the Auction House.   Saving two or three in your bank for later in the year can rake in some extra profit.  Even if you have learned the maximum three of the pet you can set aside the rest to relearn once you have caged and sold one from your collection.

Both are sold for 150 Tricky Treats by toy vendors in the major cities.   If you run your toons through all of the different trick or treat buckets you will end up with around 300+ treats.   This should allow you to buy 1 of each of the pets for your collection or for resell.  Just keep in mind that everyone will be doing this so the market will be fierce during the event.  This might be an excellent opportunity to take the pet and train them to a higher level for more value.

Where many times we talk about the monetary quests and opportunities but this is one of the most fun events that Warcraft has on it's agenda.   So run out with your favorite mask and go boo to someone.  It's a holiday,  I will bring the smores.

Good luck and Good Hunting

Can Pokewow be saved?

Pet battles was a major ingredient that Blizzard counted towards the success or failure of Mists of Pandaria.   Their goal seemed to be to bring the more casual player into a solo adventure game.  Also included in this target audience for the battle pet game was younger players.

I've talked to many players who play the pet battle games with their children and to them it has been a roaring success.   In that case,  the pet battle game has been very successful.   Other players will talk about the addictive nature of "catching them all" as they travel and train around Pandaria.

But for a gold goblin view of the pet battle it's been a relative failure.   Gold goblins groaned out load when the news that wild pets would be removed from the options to sell on the open market.   Learned pets going account wide as well as issues with many of the add-ons for sales has caused the pet market to be difficult for some and nearly impossible to become profitable on other servers.

A rough draft of patch 5.1 has arrived on the PTR's with some changes to the pet battle system.   The big change is the ability to take a Battle Stone and upgrade a pet.   Where the stones themselves are Bind on Pickup,   upgrading a pet to a Uncommon,  polished or even perfect level could jump start the sales of high level pets on the auction house.

In the coming month more information about the battle pet changes will be released.   Small changes can have a large impact on how players view and even play the pet battle system.  More interest into a system could spark income possibilities for gold goblins.   If pet sales have been floundering for you up to now,  there is hope on the horizon.
