The secret of my success

In the past few weeks there have been more and more messages arriving at the JMTC office Midwest campus.

Some end up being thanks for tips,  some are comments about my style (or lack of).  And even the occasional spam from a African princess looking for love in all the wrong places.

But one of the most popular ones are looking for tips on how to make more gold.  Many of them lately being of the "I'm just restarting to play wow again,  and I need to make 5-10k gold every day.

I thoroughly enjoy helping people making warcraft gold.   And having 2.3 million in the bank seems to say that I am semi decent at it.    With the different methods,   economic builds,   elementium shuffles and other strategies that we talk about all the time here.  There is one ideal that should be put into any gold sellers mind as being their mantra:

I supply,   they demand.

Everything gold related expands on this ideal.   You have consumers that want products,  you have methods to make these products and to supply them.    The rest is a matter of learning the mathematics behind the sales.   What can I sell to someone,  and what will they pay for it.   This seems like a simple idea,  but you build your millions based on this one statement.   Everything else is extra curricular on what you do with your money.

The other answer  that seemed to be a popular answer from others have been you need to have TSM or another favorite addon to make gold in the game.   It was even presented at one point that you needed to have the Android/Iphone app and two accounts to make gold in warcraft.  Where these ideas do open a lot more opportunities.  They really are in no way required to make lots of gold in the game.  It takes time,  and knowledge and even a form of discipline.   The addons make things a lot easier.  But just like science.  If you do not have a baseline knowledge of how the warcraft economics work,  you are limiting your gold making opportunities

Gold making should always be fun in the game.  It can easily become a game into itself. one that you know the score by hearing the ringing of the coin purse as you answer your mail.  IT's a basic skill that will open up areas that you never believed possible.    Gearing alts quickly,  buying that stronger piece,  buying your way into mount runs.   The only limits are what your mind can develop.

There is no truly easy button to press to make gold.   Everyone has an opinion on how it's done,  and sometimes they are right,   sometimes they are wrong.   The decision has to be your own on whether you want to try something with the chance of failing.  Or just look at that 85k mount you have always wanted and not be able to afford it.

Good Buying and selling

Potential EU The Undermine Journal Style Site

Horray! The EU region will hopefully be getting their own the undermine journal if all happens to go well. The site will hopefully be up and running ( I do believe the bare bones are already running ) but this will be a huge plus for the EU community.

I first caught a glimpse of this while browsing the Consortium Forums, a thread was made by a fellow Wi.nd Trade: Kathroman. The original information came from Kaliope's WoW Crafting Blog where she had a user by the name of  Acy. Below is Kaliope's Post on the new site:

" I received an email earlier this week from Acy on Hellscream, who's just launched an auction data site for EU players. This site works a bit differently from our Undermine Journal, in that Acy is relying on crowd-sourced data. Wowhead uses a similar system, where users upload their data files to provide the raw numbers for statistics. So the site is only as good as you guys make it! I know there are lots of EU players out there who've been begging for an auction data site of their own. Now is your chance to jump on the gravy train =) This new site uses Auctioneer files for the raw data. Since I know all of you are using Auctioneer anyway for your own personal price tracking, this is a painless way to contribute to the EU community.

You can visit Acy's new auction site @ wowTrader.org.uk. He also has a blog for the site where he announces new features and other interesting tidbits. The blog is hosted at wowTrader.wordpress.com. "

If you're interested with these news be sure to check out the front page of the Consortium forums in the upcoming days as Sterling has stated that the author for this new site will be making a statement regarding the site and such soon.

This is great news for the EU community, I will make sure to keep following the story and the site and I will keep all of you guys up to date! What are your thoughts on this new The Undermine Journal type of site?

Need Enchanting Materials?

Crappy PS Skills... I know xP
While swiftly browsing through the Consortium forums yesterday I managed to find a brand new amazing guide that was simply too good to pass up and link to you guys. The guide goes in dept on how to acquire enchanting materials easily and which items will yield X dust or X essence.

" The Consortium does it again "
Yet another awesome quality guide from the Consortium forums. This enchanting guide is really you're one stop shop for everything regarding enchanting materials. Personally I will never have to wowhead X item to see that it disenchants into; or if I want to mass craft some materials to DE into X essence or dust I can simply go to this thread, find that item I need and see what craftable item will yield me the best result. Thelegend, you are truly amazing!

If you've never checked out the consortium forum, please, please, please do so right now. That forum is simply jam-packed with so much great information that it'll make your head explode!

I've done a couple posts back in the day on the consortium forums, again if you've never checked them out do so right now, and hell even if you do check them once in a while check them right now because it's a forum, it's updated by the hour, new stuff is posted every couple minutes!

The Art of Underminin'

Most of you have heard that I/other people manage to pick up rare recipes worth thousands of gold for very little/cheap and then we proceed to flip them at the auction house. Personally I call this method The Art of Underminin. Why? It's simply an art.

What you need to do in order to accomplish this is to set up a undermine journal account and set up notifications. This is what will notify you when there is a rare pattern at the AH listed for under the price that you set it to. ( Ex. A schematic is listed at 500g which is below your 1,000g threshold ). Once you've got this set up make sure you check your e-mail frequently to see if any "snatches" come up. That's basically the art of underminin'.

You'll most likely be asking, but mage where can I get a list of what items are rare and which are not? The Consortium forums has an epic mega thread that's called: Items you should have on your Snatch list. There are hundreds of items within that thread which are valued at 5,000g+ but can be picked up for as little as 100g. Calianna also just recently added a new thread that adds even more recipes that you can set up notifications for, the thread is named Raid Recipes - Supplemental Snatch List.

You could potentially make hundreds of thousands of gold utilizing this strategy. It's a very low risk with very, very high rewards. The best part? It's not time consuming and if you pair up the notifications with the remote auction house tool you'll be able to snatch things when you're not even near your computer!

If you have no idea what the undermine journal is, check out these past posts, they have all the information that you need in order to get started.

I'll even go a step FURTHER and direct you to this awesome thread over at the Consortium Forums: Need a TUJ Snatch List? Here You Go. TUJ just recently implemented a way that you can import others ( or your own ) snatch list. The thread linked above will allow you to set up notifications with only a handful of clicks instead of doing everything manually. You honestly have no excuse to not be using The Undermine Journal and it's awesome notifications system.

How to Turn 500g into 20k+ Gold

This is a fascinating market that has been around since the start of the Darkmoon Faire. I only learned about it a couple months back when a user ( duck ) from the consortium forums posted it. I simply love making gold with this method.

You can make thousands of gold from this method and you're only having to invest a couple thousand. Last time I did this method I put in roughly 500g and walked out with about 20,000g in loot from patterns/greens. After everything sold I was sitting on a nice hefty pile of 21,500g.

The way the method works is you buy Dense Stone, use a blacksmith ( or your own ) to turn that into Dense Grinding Stone which you will then turn that in into Kerri Hicks who takes 8 Dense Grinding Stones for 20 Darkmoon Faire Tickets. You then turn those tickets in for bags that can have varied loot but most importantly a ton of rare & expensive patterns.

There are three different bags that you can turn in the tickets in for, I'll list them below and their noteable loots.

[Minor Darkmoon Prize] [ 5 Tickets ]
[Razor's Edge]
[Feet of the Lynx]
[Ranger Bow]
[Blackfang]
[Rakzur Club]
[Sentry Cloak]

[Lesser Darkmoon Prize] [ 12 Tickets ]
[Plans: Mithril Shield Spike]
[Pattern: Guardian Belt]
[Schematic: Craftsman's Monocle]
[Pattern: Comfortable Leather Hat]
[Midnight Mace]
[Black Duskwood Staff]

[Greater Darkmoon Prize]  [ 40 Tickets ]
[Pattern: Mooncloth Leggings]
[Schematic: Sniper Scope]
[Plans: Radiant Belt]
[Plans: Dawnbringer Shoulders]
[Six Demon Bag]
[Schematic: Lifelike Mechanical Toad]
[Plans: Whitesoul Helm]
[Formula: Enchant Gloves - Riding Skill]
[Pattern: Star Belt]

When opening the bags you'll receive a ton of greens that you can sell anywhere from 10-25g ( I sell all of mine at 25g/ea and relist every 48 hours.. I rarely get any of them back unsold ). By selling the green you're actually paying for the price of the Dense Stone which is just simply great, it makes the rare patterns/rare gear 100% profit.

I suggest you guys go try this out, it's an easy way to turn 500g into 10k+ gold, even more depending if you get a  rare pattern worth 5-10k+. What do you have to risk? Go ahead an try it out!
