Stratholme Lilies and You

Have you ever heard of this item? have you ever seen it at the auction house? My best guess is that you haven't, why? Because this item is simply rare. It's not hard to obtain but not many people know where to obtain it. It's relatively easy and by snagging yourself 4-5 of them you'll be able to make some nice profit at the auction house.

First and foremost I'll tell you where you're able to obtain Stratholme Lilies. You can buy them from Sophie Aaren in The Culling of Stratholme. That's right an old Wrath of The lich King dungeon. You have to go back there, but trust me it's well worth it.

First and foremost you can get here easily by getting a portal to Dalaran then taking the portal to Tanaris. Proceed to take the dragon outside the cave down into it's depths. From there locate The Culling of Stratholme. Now once you're inside you don't have to start any of the events simply run in, locate the NPC. To find her shop simply enter the city and keep right till you reach Festival Lane. You have to buy the lillies before the event starts so don't start it!!

One of the best parts is that Sophies not only sells Stratholme Lilies, but a whole bunch of other flowers which I will list below:

• Beautiful Wildflowers
• Black Rose
• Bouquet of Black Roses
• Bouquet of White Roses
• Simple Wildflowers
• Red Rose

Now since literally no one will have these flowers at the AH you'll be able to name your own price. I typically sell the lilies at 200g/per, that's 180g profit per lilies. I simply love utilizing this strategy because I also get the other flowers which I listed above. They don't yield as much profit as the lilies, but profit is good nonetheless.

What are you waiting for? Go snag yourself some lilies and make some easy profit at the AH!

JMTC Weekly Q&A Meeting

Tonight is the night! Just My Two Copper is hosting a Question and Answer Meeting tonight at 9PM eastern time zone. This is your chance to drop by and have professional gold guru's help you with your gold making woes! The meeting will last approximately 2 hours. Anyone is welcome, you don't need a mic to talk, you just simply need to be there and we'll answer your questions, live! As always, a recording of the meeting will be posted tomorrow morning so whoever couldn't make it can at least listen in on what was asked/answered.

Do not be alarmed once you find out that you're muted and unable to speak ( Will happen promptly at 9PM ). This is normal, we will have everyone muted except a couple of the known professional gold making gurus who will be answering your questions. If you have something you'd like to add to the conversation simply say so in chat and we will gladly unmute you.

The meeting is being held on Teamspeak. This isn't something that WoW players use ( at least to my knowledge ) too often. I'd used ventrilo but the capacity that ventrilo servers can hold just isn't enough. You're going to have to download a program named Teamspeak 3. It's 100% safe and free ( feel free to virus scan it if you don't trust me ). Teamspeak 3 can be download here.

To those of you who can't attend, I've made a forum thread which can be found here in which you can leave your questions at and we'll answer them during the meeting. You'll be able to listen to the answer the following day when the recording is posted.

The Art of Underminin'

Most of you have heard that I/other people manage to pick up rare recipes worth thousands of gold for very little/cheap and then we proceed to flip them at the auction house. Personally I call this method The Art of Underminin. Why? It's simply an art.

What you need to do in order to accomplish this is to set up a undermine journal account and set up notifications. This is what will notify you when there is a rare pattern at the AH listed for under the price that you set it to. ( Ex. A schematic is listed at 500g which is below your 1,000g threshold ). Once you've got this set up make sure you check your e-mail frequently to see if any "snatches" come up. That's basically the art of underminin'.

You'll most likely be asking, but mage where can I get a list of what items are rare and which are not? The Consortium forums has an epic mega thread that's called: Items you should have on your Snatch list. There are hundreds of items within that thread which are valued at 5,000g+ but can be picked up for as little as 100g. Calianna also just recently added a new thread that adds even more recipes that you can set up notifications for, the thread is named Raid Recipes - Supplemental Snatch List.

You could potentially make hundreds of thousands of gold utilizing this strategy. It's a very low risk with very, very high rewards. The best part? It's not time consuming and if you pair up the notifications with the remote auction house tool you'll be able to snatch things when you're not even near your computer!

I'll even go a step FURTHER and direct you to this awesome thread over at the Consortium Forums: Need a TUJ Snatch List? Here You Go. TUJ just recently implemented a way that you can import others ( or your own ) snatch list. The thread linked above will allow you to set up notifications with only a handful of clicks instead of doing everything manually. You honestly have no excuse to not be using The Undermine Journal and it's awesome notifications system.

Preparing for Patch 4.1 - Coming Soon™

Well guys, the PTR has been updated with a release candidate build, what exactly does this mean? We can expect patch 4.1 as early as next week tuesday, now this isn't official yet but it's a very educated guess.

Now, don't panic, you still have a day or two to get prepared for the patch, I'll do a short outline on what things you need to do in order to prepare for patch 4..

• If you still have obsidium/uncommon gems, get rid of them. Markets will be unstable for a least a couple days, if not a week or two.
• Go into ZA and farm whatever you need/want in there, especially if you're an enchanter, snag yourself the executioner enchant.
• Get ready for pet demand - there are new achievements coming out with patch 4.1, so pets will be in heavy demand, craft engineer, snag vendor pets and get ready to sell in unusual quantities for at least a week or so. Also, if you have time, park alts at nest locations for free/easy gold.
• Stock Volatiles If possible - stay away from volatile life though, as they'll most likely crash due to botters going over to herbs. 
• Get ready for gem demand - new gear from heroics = people need gems, static stats will sell best.
• Get ready for enchanting scrolls demand, again, new gear from heroics will increase the demand for enchanting scrolls. Check the loot tables for ZA/ZG to find which enchants to craft.
• Craft any other type of craftables that will be in demand due to new gear from ZA/ZG, namely belt buckles, spellthreads, leg armors and such. Have a good/hefty stockpile for at least the first we days/week.
• Save up honor/justice points and turn in ASAP for Maelstorm Crystals and sell for normal prices I.E. before they crash to oblivion.
• Park alts at locations of Cataclysm Zone Rare Elites and camp their spawn/check every so often. Their loot tables got updated, and can now drop epics & even a BOE mounts.

That's a pretty hefty list if you ask me, so why don't you get to it and start to prepare for patch 4.1? You've got roughly 48 hours before the patch hits ( hopefully ) so what are you waiting for?

Howdy guys and girls, last night we had another fantastic meeting. A wide variety of topics were discussed during the meetings, and I'm really happy with the outcome. I've decided to stop using podomatic since someone gave me access to their hosting, so I'll be using that from now on, now don't worry you'll still get your stream, it'll just be a little different.

JMTC Weekly Q&A Meeting Recording

Another awesome JMTC Meeting in the books! Last night was fantastic, it started out slow but by the end we had a ton of people join us and ask questions, we even answered the questions that were posted in the JMTC forums thread. I simply cannot express how much I enjoy these meetings, I love helping you guys out and this is one of the best ways that really allows me to do so.

Any who, below is the meeting, it only lasted about an hour and 40 minutes this time, but we covered a wide variety of topics. It's split into two parts because my laptop died halfway through and I have 0 audio experience so I couldn't merge the two seperate recordings.

I don't have time to re-listen to it all over again and give you guys timestamps ( it's 1:30am ) but I will update this post hopefully before 12pm with timestamps, so please check back soon!





Starting April, these meetings will hopefully be hosted on Itunes, It will cost me some cash out of my pocket but I don't really mind, as long as you guys have the ease of listening to the meeting on the go, I'm fine with it. So that's something to look forward to.

Come the following weeks I will slowly and gradually change these meetings into something more top-notch and higher quality. I've had a couple members suggest that we hold the meetings on a specific topic, I'll have to see what I can come up with for future meetings. What do you guys think about these meetings/recordings? Automatically Sell Everything in Your Inventory

Last week during the weekly JMTC Q&A Meeting there was a great question asked. The question is: Is there a way to easily sell cut gems/items using an addon or a macro?

The answer is yes, there are multiple addons and there is even a macro that you can use to vendor items much faster than by hand. Keep in mind these macros and addons are 100% safe and they will NOT get you banned. I will list the several methods that you can use to save yourself some time when vendoring items: 

Auto Vendor Addon
This is a great addon to use to vendor items. I personally don't use it, and I learned about it through a comment here at JMTC, but by the looks of it, it does exactly what you need; vendor useless items like greys and thing that you simply want to vendor all with the click of one button. Below is a key outline to what the addon does

• Sell grey items (always enabled as long as the addon is enabled);
• Sell soulbound items that your class cannot use (disabled by default). I tried to make this very conservative, so it will also not sell stuff you haven't yet trained for. Also, mail will never be sold for hunters/shamans and plate will not be sold for paladins and warriors;
• Sell soulbound items that are "not optimal" for your class (cloth for Druid/Rogue, cloth/leather for Hunter/Shaman, cloth/leather/mail for Warrior/Death Knight/Paladin). Only works for players level 50 and higher, so you can keep using "suboptimal" armor until you have your armor specialization;
• Auto repair when visiting a repair-capable vendor (optional to use the Guild Bank for repairs);
• Support for filters, meaning you can have a list of items you want to always keep or always sell.

Vendor Item Macro
This is a great little nifty macro that will vendor an item of your choosing. It's great for vendoring items such as cut green gems. Below is the macro:

Why You Should Be Using Old Strategies

Crazy title for a post huh? There are many reasons why you should be using old strategies, why? Because they simply still work. If they worked once, surely they will work again. I'm talking about strategies like the Saronite Shuffle or Crafting and selling Wrath Of The Lich King Flasks for profit. They're still viable markets/strategies that you can use to make gold, and better yet; these markets have little to no competition!

Thinking "outside" the box can make you thousands of gold. Right now everyone is busy making gold with the Cataclysm materials and such while not many people realize that they could be making the same amount of gold if not more if you go back to the old methods that made you gold 4-5 months ago.

A great example that comes up to my mind are the JMTC Blogging Carnivals. Some of the topics for these carnivals are awesome, and can be used at any time regardless of what expansion it is. For example, the blogging carnival on " What's your favorite niche market " has some great articles that are still very relevant even though that post was made last year September 2nd. While at first glance some of the information might look outdated; it really isn't. The thought/strategy is still there, you can either do two things; apply the strategy as is, or you could apply the strategy and try to relate it to Cataclysm materials. Either way will work and I've personally done both.

So if you have the time, go to the carnival listing page and check out the past carnivals, some of the topics are that you call " Green Pasture " topics and their strategies can be used whenever and will most likely yield you tons of profit.

So lesson of the day guys; If the Cataclysm markets are tanking, try to go back to those Wrath of the Lich King gold making methods and see if they're still viable. A great market to start on is shattering abyss crystals, that market feels like you're printing gold ( legally of course )

JMTC Weekly Q&A Meeting Recording

Another awesome meeting in the books! Everything just went fantastic even if I had some issues with not having admin and all, everything just flowed so smoothly. We covered a vast number of topics last night.

One idea that I had for this weekly meeting is to start a forum thread where people who can't actually come to the meetings but want to ask questions can drop by and leave their questions there. From there we'll snag the questions and answer them live. It's a great way to get the people who can't make it to these meetings involved, as they get their questions answered and simply everyone just benefits ( more content for the listeners ).

Also another thing that's currently in the works is that a couple of the gold guru's have decided to start a brand new podcast. It's going to be an all-around podcast with 7 team members. We expect to have an episode out by next week and we will be releasing them every week after that ( hopefully ). We're all very excited to start this podcast and we hope that you guys will enjoy it as well! If you have an artistic side, we're running a contest for the podcast. Whoever designs the logo for the podcast will have a chance at winning a 2 month game time card!

A couple years ago I was the same guy, struggling to make gold, never having enough gold for my epic fliers, always wanting that travelers tundra mammoth but never having enough gold, trust me I've been there and done that. Now I'm here to help you guys out, there are so many free resources that you can use to help you make gold with ease. I will list a couple of the options that you can use if you're looking to get a question answered or if you're looking for a tip for X profession below.

The Just My Two Copper Forums
This is by far one of the best resources out there. Looking for a gold tip? There are hundreds upon hundreds of tips here. Looking to get help from the gold guru's? There's a section for that. Would you like to read up on some speculation about the up and coming patch? There's a section for that. Looking for a tip on how to make gold with your favorite profession? There's a section for that, for everything else, there is the IRC ( Sorry I had to xD ) There simply is so much awesome information on these forums that you don't really have to go elsewhere.

If you want you can even become a premium member to the forum and receive special access to the MVP, Premium members & the option to create your own gold journal! The cost is $15 for life.

Just My Two Copper IRC
Another great resource that is available 24/7. What the IRC is for those who don't know, it's a live chat room that you can connect to 24/7 and chat with other people. Here you can drop by or hang around and ask any questions that you want, seek any type of help. There are hundreds of people in the channel all day long and they're all extremely friendly. 

Just My Two Copper Weekly Q&A Meetings
For those who are new and this is your first visit to the site, Just My Two Copper holds weekly meetings every friday night at 9PM where you can drop by and ask any of your questions and they'll be answered live. It's a great way to get gold tips from the experts. The best part? It's free and if you can't make it to the meetings, they're posted the following day so you're able to listen to it.

JMTC Guide: How To Track Your Gold

I've gotten countless numbers of e-mails where people are simply asking if there is a way to track your gold in take and output. They want to know what they're spending on and what exactly X item is yielding them. So I've decided to make this post and list a couple of helpful addons that will help you keep track of your gold and stay organized. Below are the top addons that track your gold, they're in no order.

Analyst Addon
This is a great addon to have/get if you're trying to get organized when you're making gold. It does several things at once and you can even set it to track per day, week or month. Below is a small list of what this addon does/tracks:

• How much gold did I earn and how?
• How much gold did I spend and on what?
• How am I doing in the auction house?
• What have I looted from mobs?
• What items did I consume?
• What items did I produce?
• How many currencies (marks, badges, emblems) have I collected?
• What have I deposited or withdrawn from the guild bank?
• What is my gathering and crafting activity? 

It basically tracks and tells you exactly where you're spending gold. Missing 150g? Did you forget about those trainer costs? or how about that glyph you just bought at the Auction House? This addon will track everything for you so you know exactly how much gold you've earned today/weekly/monthly.

MySales Addon
This is the addon I used to track my gold. It doesn't do everything analyst does but it allows me to see who bought X item at what time and at what price. It also allows me to track my sales for a given period of time ( day/week/month ). The way it spits out data is very nice and organized, though there is one way I wish this addon had: custom sorting. Below is a small features list:

• Display your sale in a table display.
  
• Show what your top sellers are and your top buyers.
  
• Buyer names coloured if they're in your guild or friends list.
  
• Filter entries by time. 

I use this addon because it simply works for me. It doesn't track your gold output, so if you're looking to track that I'd go with Analyst instead. Sinshroud from the Consortium Forums made an excellent guide on this addon, you can even put out the info out into excel if you want, it's all included there.

Auditor Addon
This is the last addon that I know of that tracks your gold. I've never personally used it but from what I've heard it's great. It tracks almost everything you can think of and then some. It tracks your gold in four different "times" Per Session/Day/Week/All Time. Below is a list of what it exactly tracks:

• Loot money - Whether you are solo, in a party or in a raid.
• Vendor money - Stuff you buy from or sell to vendors.
• Quest money - Money you gain from quests, and money you spend on quest
• Trade money - Doing enchants or transmutes? Yep, it catches money exchanged in trade.
• Mail money - Sending money to/from your alts or friends?
• AH money - At last, both outgoing AND incoming Auction House money is tracked.
• Training money - How much did you spend on training and respecs?
• Flight money - Flight Expenses
• Repairs money - See how much money you really spent on repairing your kit after those instances.
• Unknown money - Money gained/lost, but for whatever reason, Auditor can't work out where it's from.
• Reconciliation money - That's money for when you just installed Auditor, and it has to account for the cash you have right now, or for when you crashed, or were logged on at a friend's house. It's all good.
• Guild Bank money - Money you deposit or withdraw from your Guild Bank. Exciting, I know.
• LFG reward money
• Guild contributions money
• Reforging money

As you can see this addon tracks everything and then some. If you're really hardcore and want to know exactly where your gold is going I would either suggest this or Analyst. If you're looking to simply track your sales go with My Sales.

That's all folks, hopefully you'll download one of the three mentioned addons and get yourself organized instead of wondering that 100g went. To the AH Goblins: Tracking your gold is needed regardless if you don't have a way to track your gold I suggest you download one of these three addons so you can see how much you're spending/earning. It's always fun to look at the monthly log to see what you've made X gold in a month.

Mageshadow's Best WoW Gold Tip

Not long ago Markco offered to you guys the best gold tip that you will ever read. Well I read that post and thought.. well that's some good advice.. but it's not really the "best" advice out there. While that tip is an excellent one no doubt, I have to respectfully disagree because I personally think that there is something that's more important when it comes to making gold.

Knowledge. Without it, you're not going anywhere. Information is the KEY when you're making gold. The more you know the better. If you don't know what the price for X item is, you can't really make a profit. Knowing that there is a upcoming patch and knowing that that patch is going to release epic gems is what and can make you thousands of gold. Knowing that a certain item is going to go up in price soon is what can and will make you thousands of gold.

If you don't do your research you're only cutting yourself short, If you don't read blogs, forums, tweets, etc, you're losing out on information that could potentially make you rich. You simply need to do your research if you're somewhat interesting in making gold within this game ( and any other game/real life situations ). You wouldn't invest in a stock if you new nothing about it.. right? You read up on the company.. check how they've been doing.. etc etc, well it's the same concept here.. you read upcoming changes, you read the forums for past trends, etc etc.

There are tons of sites that put this information out there.. you just simply have to go out and look for it. There are the JMTC Forums, The Consortium Forums, My Twitter account, Markco's twitter account, the tutorial page at the top, Hundreds of blogs that put out great information daily, there are even podcasts ( CTA & AHJ )out there that you can listen to while you play! You can even have someone teach you everything if you use the WoW Coaching Program.

I was reading some of the comments on one of the recordings that I posted about two weeks ago, and one really struck me. What the comment basically said was that you can't take advice from anyone, that you should only be taking advice/tips from people that you personally trust. I completely disagree with that statement but I can see where the poster is coming from.. but honestly what do you have to lose? A tip is a tip even if it's from a "non-trusted" source, you're only cutting yourself short if you choose not to listen to this or read someones blog just because they aren't trusted. I personally take advice from anyone that's willing to give it to me, from there I can choose whether or not to follow someone's advice based on what I think. I guess what I'm trying to say is that any advice can be good advice regardless of the source.


You need to look for the information. You can't have someone else do it, you personally have to take the time and read/listen to the ideas and tips that are being put out there. JMTC March Blogging Carnival Info & Low Level Tips

Hello everyone, it's Mageshadow here, I just wanted to tell the bloggers out there that JMTC is preparing for it's next next blogging carnival for March 2nd! The topic will be " Specialize or Diversify? Control one market or dip your toes into several? " and if you'd like to enter simply read the instructions on how to submit your entries to JMTC's blogging carnivals. I hope to see a decent turn out of bloggers writing about this topic! Better get those entries in soon you've got about a week to turn them in.

If you aren't a blogger, What is your take on the subject? is it better to control one market instead of dipping your toes into all possible markets?

Of course I wouldn't leave you without a gold tip so below are some small tips to help you make gold while you're leveling a toon.

• Pick up everything! Greys, Greens, Blues, everything has it's value, greys especially. When you get into the 45-60 dungeons greys can be worth 1-4g each and the gold from them will rack up in no time.
• Flip items at the Auction House. Use Auctioneers search function to find awesome items to flip/vendor for gold .
• Inscription can make gold even at level 75! Make/learn your daily low level glyph and craft the profitable ones, you can earn up to 500-1,000g depending on which glyphs you can craft, not bad for being level 15 (:
• Collect bags as soon as possible. More inventory slots = more things you can store. If you're using tip #1 this means more gold  as you'll have more items in your inventory
• Check the price of an item at the Auction House! Some items such as greys and white items can go for 10 times more than they do when vendored, while vendoring is the easiest gold it won't always give you the best bang for your buck.
• Grab gathering professions! Low level ores & herbs can net you a ton of gold at low levels. Ores like copper and tin fetch 5-10g per stack, and that much on a level 1-20 toon is a lot.

JMTC Guide: Vendor Items Edition #2

Dalaran has come and gone, it is now a desert wasteland only seeing a couple handful of visitors at it's peak, instead of the hundreds upon hundreds of players the city used to maintain. What does this leave us with? An excellent gold making oppurtinity.

Dalaran has several shops & vendors that sell a wide variety of items, now that this city is rarely visited by players, the competition for these items has decreased, thus creating a way to net yourself a nice chuck of change. In this small guide I will cover the top items that can be bought from vendors and later resold at the AH for insane amounts of gold.


Dalaran Hats

There are two hats that can be sold for major profit. They are the violet hat, and the purple turban, they are both sold by a vendor named Charmeli Banaphash. The hats are a little expensive as you can see in the screenshot, but they can be sold upwards to 250g per hat. These items are vanity items, who doesn't want to look cool in a violet hat on their level 1 bank alt?

This one came up in Friday nights ventrilo meeting, a couple people said they've been making a killing selling these hats, as simply there is no competition and people are too lazy to get ported to Dalaran and then get another port back to a main city. No competition allows you to put these hats up at virtually any price ( I'd say under 500g for best results ).

Dalaran Bouquet & Flowers
A vendor named Aerith Primrose who is located right outside the violet hold, she sells flowers & bouquets. This is a very niche market. I rarely see these items posted at the AH because people simply don't know these exist. There are a total of 6 flowers/bouquets, ranging anywhere from 4 silver to 40g. I did a guest post over at Cold's Gold Factory on these bouquets way back then, I suggest you check it out.

All in all these flowers are an excellent way to boost your daily income. The risk is low as you can buy the flowers for as little as 4 silver. I can sell these flowers anywhere from 25-100g per.
