Lets fast forward a couple weeks or so, Patch 4.1 hits and shortly after so does 4.2, epic gems could be in that patch or Blizzard could just decide not to include them in the patch. What's the next big thing that will and should be coming in these patches? Everyone is worried about Epic Gems, I'm worried about Shattering Maelstroms.
Blizzard has always added a way to shatter the "crystals" of World of Warcraft, it's to keep their prices nice and high on them, it's their way to manipulate the enchanting market. It's always happened and I know, at least myself I've never been prepared to make money off shattering in the past
Lets take an indepth analysis on when the past crystal shatters were added, we'll start off with the Burning Crusade Shatter: Void Shatter. This was added in patch 2.4, it was a minor/major content patch. What 2.4 brought was the Isle of Sunwell, which came with a new raid and a daily quest location. Now let's think about Cataclysm, patch 4.2 is coming and with that comes The Firelands Raid, Blizzard has also stated that they're making a new zone or a quest hub location, so could Maelstorm Crystals be coming along with 4.2? Stop there, let's move onto the Wrath of the Lich King shatter.
The Wrath of the Lich King Shatter ( Abyssal Shatter ) was added in patch 3.2.2. It was released shortly after the release of the Call of the Crusade raid, which was the second major raid content in Wrath of the Lich King. Cataclysm isn't even close to it's second major content patch, we haven't even gotten our first, but the abyssal shatter was released in patch 3.2.2, and Firelands in coming in 4.2, so could Maelstrom shatter be coming shortly after the release of the Firelands Zone/Raid?
So I ask you this; Should we be picking up the cheap Maelstorms ( mainly when 4.1 hits due to them crashing ) and stockpile them for shattering? Or is it too early?

Patch 4.1 & Patch 4.2 are right around the corner and I'm sure most of you are wondering what to stockpile for these upcoming patches, well, I'm here to help! Blizzard has made a ton of announcements regarding both of these patches, some big, and a couple smaller ones. Below are the top 5 things I believe will be "hot" sellers when the patch(es) are released.
- Rare/Common Gems - Why? Because if epic gems come in either of these two patches you're going to want to have enough cheap supplies stockpiled to transmute them. As of right now, some of the rare and even the common gems are selling at an all time low, this probably won't be the case come patch 4.1/4.2. Also, new gear is on the way, and a ton of people are going to need new gems for their awesomely epic gear. I suspect that the demand for cut gems will be increased two, if not three fold.
- Volatiles - Why? Again, if you're even going to transmute any of the epic gems you're going to need some cheap volatiles. They're currently low-medium on my server, this will most likely change come 4.1/4.2.
- Honor & Justice Points - Why? With the new addition of being able to buy Maelstrom crystals from vendor you're going to want some honor & justice points in stock. You're going to want to dump these asap ( patch day would be best ) to yield you the maximum gold.
- Enchants - Why? New gear is coming from ZA/ZG & Firelands, people are going to be wanting to get it enchanted. Right now enchants are still relatively low, if you have some extra cash around buy some of the cheap "good" enchants to flip once 4.1/4.2 hits. You'll also want to stock a nice pile of belt buckles and leg/spellthreads - for the same reason mentioned above. We also have the upcoming Midsummer Festival - they updated the loot tables to ilvl 353 cloaks, so cloak enchants will be in demand at the time of the festival.
- Parking Alts - You'll want to park some alts at the Cataclysm 5 man boss locations, why? Their loot tables are getting upgraded and if you're able to find one and kill one, it could make a couple thousand gold.
Those are I'd say the top 5 things to go/stockpile before patch 4.1/4.2 - I decided to keep one small thing off the list for a future post which I think you guys will enjoy.
What are your top 5 items that you will be stockpiling/doing for the upcoming patches?
First and foremost, you have two rather popular/rare enchants, Formula: Enchant Boots - Cat's Swiftness and Formula: Enchant Boots - Boar's Speed & Formula: Enchant Cloak - Steelweave. They're two enchants that sell rather well at the auction house, and they're rarely seen because no one really farms Heroic Magisters Terrace any more. I've been able to sell these enchants at 4-500g per, and they sell rather often. It's a great niche market that any enchanter should be in. On top of this, you also get Void Crystals from the epics that drop from the bosses, which can be shattered for 2 large prismatic shards per which can then be used for either of the enchants mentioned above. ( Note- the enchants are BOP you're selling the scrolls )
Then you also have a ton of epic patterns that drop in here, you have Pattern: Cobrascale Gloves, Pattern: Netherdrake Gloves, Pattern: Gloves of the Living Touch, Pattern: Cobrascale Gloves, Pattern: Windstrike Gloves. The recipes are BOP but the craftables are BOE, you could craft some and if you're on a server that has some level 70 twinking, you'd be able to get a nice profit for some of these items.
There are also a ton of rare BOE recipes & patterns that drop within here. To name a few: Recipe: Haste Potion, Recipe: Elixir of Empowerment, Plans: Adamantite Weapon Chain, Schematic: Mana Potion Injector, Schematic: Healing Potion Injector, Pattern: Unyielding Bracers, there are more but I'll stop there, I'm sure you get the point. Most of these patterns can yield an easy 1,000-2,500g, sometimes even more if you find the right buyer.
If that's not enough for you to go farm this place,

This is probably one of the biggest changes coming to 4.1; rare elite mobs that are around the new Cataclysm zones are getting their loot tables buffed, most of them will be dropping ilvl 359 epic gear, and one rare even has the chance at dropping a rare BOE mount!
The bosses are spread around the new Cataclysm zones, they're not soloable I'm sure if you did it with a friend or two and then split the profit that'd be great gold. There are a total of 5 rare elite mobs, and each have a chance to drop an epic, it's unsure if it will be 100% chance drop, but you never know!
The items you can obtain are listed below
- Mobus's Dripping Halberd
- Reins of Poseidus ( Mount )
- Belt of a Thousand Gaping Mouths
- Xariona's Spectral Gauntlets
- Garr's Reinforced Girdle of Memories
- Vitreous Beak of Julak-Doom
If you don't know where the rare elite mobs are located, check out this awesome post over at MMO-Champion, it outlines where the mobs spawn and in what Zone.
What are your thoughts on these BOE's? Will the mount yield a good amount of gold since it's rare & BOE?

The way the process works is you use your Wormhole Generator: Northrend and if you get lucky you get the option of going to the Underground. Once you get the option to you'll get to trade with a vendor named Kaye Toogie, which has multiple rare patterns that are worth anywhere from 250-5,000g.
Keep in mind that you do need some luck on your side, in the past 6 months I've only ever gotten the option of going to "underground" three times. I've always managed to sell the patterns anywhere from 3-5,500g, and all for about a single mouse click once every four hours.
The three schematics are
- Schematic: Arcanite Dragonling
- Schematic: Mechanical Dragonling
- Schematic: Mithril Mechanical Dragonling
So for a couple minutes worth of work you can net yourself an easy couple thousand gold, pretty epic tip/gold making hint huh? Now go use to Wormhole cooldowns! :)

Do not be alarmed once you find out that you're muted and unable to speak ( Will happen promptly at 9PM ). This is normal, we will have everyone muted except a couple of the known professional gold making gurus who will be answering your questions. If you have something you'd like to add to the conversation simply say so in chat and we will gladly unmute you.
The meeting is being held on Teamspeak. This isn't something that WoW players use ( at least to my knowledge ) too often. I'd used ventrilo but the capacity that ventrilo servers can hold just isn't enough. You're going to have to download a program named Teamspeak 3. It's 100% safe and free ( feel free to virus scan it if you don't trust me ). Teamspeak 3 can be download here.
To those of you who can't attend, I've made a forum thread which can be found here in which you can leave your questions at and we'll answer them during the meeting. You'll be able to listen to the answer the following day when the recording is posted.

I wouldn't leave you without a couple gold tips, so below I have a couple tips that you can use to make gold with selling vendor patterns.

Been a long time since I posted, too long actually.
In world of warcraft there's such a thing as the trade chat channel. Many of you may ignore it due to annoying trolls and worrisome adolescents. I'd like you to get back into using trade for several different aspects of the ah game.
Create Buzz
One of the easiest ways to sell an item quickly is to create buzz on the trade channel. Have some adventurer's journals, a darkmoon faire deck or perhaps some mysterious fortune cards? Try talking up on chat and then as you get whispers about the items be sure to explain the benefits of each. Add into your trade barking that you will explain the value of the item to anyone who is curious. This will get you plenty of potential buyers whispering you for the juicy details.
If an argument starts about your item, try not to enter the fray. Simply continue with your bark and hope that someone sticks up for you. Regardless of the outcome of the argument, know that any publicity is good publicity and since there is a limit on how often you can bark, the more they talk about your item the better.
Sell Underhandedly
You'll need to wash your hands after this trick, but it works so I'll explain it to you. First, you get on an alt and post an item for X gold. Then, you get on trade chat and offer to buy the same item for 2X gold. Say that you need to go to a raid or something and need someone to bring the item to the location you will be raiding. If anyone whispers you just say yes I want the item. When they go to sell it to you, explain that you have to go for the raid and leave. Later on, when they ask you if you still want it, just state that you found it on the ah for cheaper. Mean right? Underhanded right? Well I see it happen constantly so at least now you can avoid it yourself.
Real Life Advertising
If you haven't noticed already, there are some BlogAds at the top of the site which I have provided for all experience levels of advertisers here at JMTC. Whether you are a brand new blog or a gold guide promoter, this is a great opportunity to get some eyeballs to your pages for cheap. As of right now the ads are going for $2 per day, a real deal when you consider the sheer number of visitors this site gets on a daily basis. Just like with trade chat, sometimes all you have to do is try a different avenue and you can find where your customers are lurking.
Blizzard just recently updated the 4.1 patch notes and I noticed something extremely huge. Read an excerpt of the blue post below:
Items:
- All trade goods available for purchase with Honor or Justice Points from the associated commodities vendors have had their prices reduced by 50%.
- Maelstrom Crystals are now available for purchase with Honor or Justice Points from the associated commodities vendors.
The mass supply coming in 4.1 will make the good end-game enchants cheaper to craft. With everyone dumping their Maelstroms ( hopefully soon ) you might be able to snag some pretty cheap maelstroms and sell the enchants at their current price - It's a bit risky but the reward is worth it in my opinion.
As you read above, the prices for the other items will be getting slashed in half. This makes it a little more viable if you're racked up on Justice Points, especially those raiders who simply have nothing to spend their points on.
What are your thoughts on Maelstroms in 4.1?
I often get asked how to make gold if you don't have much capital. In fact I've answered this question multiple times over the past week so it's inspired me to make this post about it. There are a ton of resources that you use/read that will make you thousands of gold per day even with low capital.
For starters there are multiple guides over at the Consortium Forums - they have a special section to top notch guides that are just simply excellent. One that really stands of for me is Sinshroud's Guide to Outlands Limited Supply. It's a great guide for those who don't have a lot of capital yet wish to make gold like they're pros. What the guide basically is, it points you and gives you a route to follow that maximizes your gold per hour buying vendor bought items. There is even a little summary at the bottom that states that you make roughly 5,000g per hour ( or the equivalent to ) by using this route/method. There are even videos that show the exact route that Sinshroud takes in order to maximize his gold per minute/hour.
There is even a wowhead comment that states he looted over 200 cloth in under 35 minutes by grinding these mobs, that would equate to roughly 17-18 stacks in an hour; and even more if you were under the effect of the Potion of Treasure Finding.
Farming cloth is a great alternative if you don't have a gatherer and you don't have a lot of gold on you. It's an easy way to make a couple grand in an hour or two.
We've all been there, started out as noobs and saw that epicly geared guy in Ironforge on his awesome and cool mount ( Magical Rooster :P ). We've all drooled and said I want to be just like him.. rich and have all the gold in World of Warcraft... well.... once I level up to level 85.
Leveling in a key factor when you're trying to make gold. Not only does it directly affect how much gold you can earn earn per hour, but it also allows you to give yourself a nice little "head start" from all of the questing and grinding that you'll do trying to reach that awesome Level 85.
If you're a low level and you're reading all of these gold tips, stop. Seriously, stop reading and go level. While leveling you'll earn at least 10,000g from 1-85. I know I personally made 5,500g just from leveling my shaman from 80-85. Quest gold is simply great if you have little to no gold in your pocket. Leveling is a great way to get yourself off your feet. Most of your income will begin rolling in at 70, from 70-80 expect to make anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000g. If you're a disenchanter, disenchant the greens and list them at the auction house, Wrath of the Lich King enchanting materials have sky rocketed, you'll make a killing by disenchanting your greens, trust me
If you make gold at low levels what are you going to spend it on? Epic flying..? Well that requires level 68. What about a level 85 epic? Oh.. that requires level 85.. darn. If you're going to be serious about making gold I suggest you have at least one character at 85. That way you'll have something to spend your gold on, rather than drooling over 310% flying mount speed.
What I'm really trying to say is, go level. There is simply no reason not to. You'll only benefit yourself by doing so. To the gold guru's: Go level. That's right, not only will questing make you gold but you'll also have access to two more profession slots that you did not have. The more professions the more you can diversify your strategies and make even more gold than you are right now.
Another awesome JMTC Meeting in the books! Last night was fantastic, it started out slow but by the end we had a ton of people join us and ask questions, we even answered the questions that were posted in the JMTC forums thread. I simply cannot express how much I enjoy these meetings, I love helping you guys out and this is one of the best ways that really allows me to do so.
Any who, below is the meeting, it only lasted about an hour and 40 minutes this time, but we covered a wide variety of topics. It's split into two parts because my laptop died halfway through and I have 0 audio experience so I couldn't merge the two seperate recordings.
I don't have time to re-listen to it all over again and give you guys timestamps ( it's 1:30am ) but I will update this post hopefully before 12pm with timestamps, so please check back soon!
Starting April, these meetings will hopefully be hosted on Itunes, It will cost me some cash out of my pocket but I don't really mind, as long as you guys have the ease of listening to the meeting on the go, I'm fine with it. So that's something to look forward to.
Come the following weeks I will slowly and gradually change these meetings into something more top-notch and higher quality. I've had a couple members suggest that we hold the meetings on a specific topic, I'll have to see what I can come up with for future meetings. What do you guys think about these meetings/recordings? Do you like them?
Do not be alarmed once you find out that you're muted and unable to speak ( Will happen promptly at 9PM ). A frequent question that is being asked around everywhere is what do I do with all of this ore? Everyone and their friend is now doing the Obsidium/Elementium Shuffle - and botters just keep posting and posting the ore for cheaper and cheaper, to the point where it's so cheap you'd be stupid NOT to buy it.
There are two main things that you simply have to know when you're buying ore from the Auction House. The first if that you need to know the floor price ( the amount of gold a stack of ore will yield you when you use X strategy ). The floor price for Obsidium is 54g, the Floor price for elementium is 44g. Knowing that, you can safely buy any amount of ore under those prices and you simply know that you're going to be making profit.
The second thing that you need to know is what you're going to do with the Ore and finding out if the method you chose is profitable.. Are you going to prospect it? Smelt it into bars? Craft JC jewelry and disenchant it? Transmute the prospected gems? Transmute meta gems? I've made a nice little picture for you guys to help you out if you have too much ore and don't know what to with it.
Woops! Forgot the Yes -> Buy ( just assume it's there! ) |
If you bought the ore below it's floor price cutting and vendoring the common gems will always give you your initial investment. Vendoring gems is like your safety net, which is something that is always great to have in case a certain market tanks.

A new blog recently started up by a fellow reader & friend of mine - Sinku. So far he's got great content on the site and is posting frequently ( everyday it seems ). One thing I can safely say about this guy: he's got awesome ideas around every corner, I mean just go look at the content posted on his site! He really thinks outside the box on some of these posts, I know on several of his posts I went " huh.. why didn't I think of that ". I found his post on how to make over 1,000g by sitting in stormwind very interesting, you guys should go read it!

It should remain the same, at least up until 4.2. Why 4.2? Well, 4.2 brings a new raid out, meaning that the current content becomes easy/outdated or what many guilds call "farm" mode. The current content will be more of a " Hey can I get my alt in there for some easy gear? " - It's going to be almost like doing Naxxramas in Ulduar gear, which is makes it much easier.
If you're doing old content using new, better & higher tier gear, 80% of it is going to be disenchanted and either put into the Guild bank for the guild to use for their enchants or listed at the Auction house and sold for gold for the Guild. Either way, I expect Maelstrom Crystals to drop in price due to this. Most people will not need the gear out of here, especially if they'll have gear from the Firelands Raids that is going to be released with patch 4.2
If you're looking for ways to obtain Maelstrom Crystals, I did an article not long ago on how to obtain them, you can really craft these using very cost effective methods once you get started. It's an excellent way to make gold, especially if you meet all the requirements to use the engineering method

Hello there guys and gals! It's been a week since I started the contest here at Just My Two Copper, so now it's time to choose the winners! All in all there were over 100 entries multiple ways, e-mails, twitter, blog comments and such, but only three lucky people will win something :)
I hope that in the future I can hold more contests like this, even if I have to put the money out of my own pocket, I simply love giving back to you guys, I'm a very giving person :)
Anyways, let's get to the contest winners! The Winners were picked out randomly, no one had more "favoritism" - I used a true random number generator so it's 100% fair. 1st prize is the Liandro's Lil XT Pet, Second is the Paint Bomb Loot Card & the last winner gets the Party G.R.E.N.A.D.E loot card.
- Xzianna - Liandro's Lil XT Pet
- Ant Cooper - Paint Bomb Loot Card
- Michael Sherretz - Party G.R.E.N.A.D.E loot card
Last week during the weekly JMTC Q&A Meeting there was a great question asked. The question is: Is there a way to easily sell cut gems/items using an addon or a macro?
The answer is yes, there are multiple addons and there is even a macro that you can use to vendor items much faster than by hand. Keep in mind these macros and addons are 100% safe and they will NOT get you banned. I will list the several methods that you can use to save yourself some time when vendoring items:
Auto Vendor Addon
This is a great addon to use to vendor items. I personally don't use it, and I learned about it through a comment here at JMTC, but by the looks of it, it does exactly what you need; vendor useless items like greys and thing that you simply want to vendor all with the click of one button. Below is a key outline to what the addon does
- Sell grey items (always enabled as long as the addon is enabled);
- Sell soulbound items that your class cannot use (disabled by default). I tried to make this very conservative, so it will also not sell stuff you haven't yet trained for. Also, mail will never be sold for hunters/shamans and plate will not be sold for paladins and warriors;
- Sell soulbound items that are "not optimal" for your class (cloth for Druid/Rogue, cloth/leather for Hunter/Shaman, cloth/leather/mail for Warrior/Death Knight/Paladin). Only works for players level 50 and higher, so you can keep using "suboptimal" armor until you have your armor specialization;
- Auto repair when visiting a repair-capable vendor (optional to use the Guild Bank for repairs);
- Support for filters, meaning you can have a list of items you want to always keep or always sell.
This is a great little nifty macro that will vendor an item of your choosing. It's great for vendoring items such as cut green gems. Below is the macro:

Crazy title for a post huh? There are many reasons why you should be using old strategies, why? Because they simply still work. If they worked once, surely they will work again. I'm talking about strategies like the Saronite Shuffle or Crafting and selling Wrath Of The Lich King Flasks for profit. They're still viable markets/strategies that you can use to make gold, and better yet; these markets have little to no competition!
Thinking "outside" the box can make you thousands of gold. Right now everyone is busy making gold with the Cataclysm materials and such while not many people realize that they could be making the same amount of gold if not more if you go back to the old methods that made you gold 4-5 months ago.
A great example that comes up to my mind are the JMTC Blogging Carnivals. Some of the topics for these carnivals are awesome, and can be used at any time regardless of what expansion it is. For example, the blogging carnival on " What's your favorite niche market " has some great articles that are still very relevant even though that post was made last year September 2nd. While at first glance some of the information might look outdated; it really isn't. The thought/strategy is still there, you can either do two things; apply the strategy as is, or you could apply the strategy and try to relate it to Cataclysm materials. Either way will work and I've personally done both.
So if you have the time, go to the carnival listing page and check out the past carnivals, some of the topics are that you call " Green Pasture " topics and their strategies can be used whenever and will most likely yield you tons of profit.
So lesson of the day guys; If the Cataclysm markets are tanking, try to go back to those Wrath of the Lich King gold making methods and see if they're still viable. A great market to start on is shattering abyss crystals, that market feels like you're printing gold ( legally of course )
Another awesome meeting in the books! Everything just went fantastic even if I had some issues with not having admin and all, everything just flowed so smoothly. We covered a vast number of topics last night.
One idea that I had for this weekly meeting is to start a forum thread where people who can't actually come to the meetings but want to ask questions can drop by and leave their questions there. From there we'll snag the questions and answer them live. It's a great way to get the people who can't make it to these meetings involved, as they get their questions answered and simply everyone just benefits ( more content for the listeners ).
Also another thing that's currently in the works is that a couple of the gold guru's have decided to start a brand new podcast. It's going to be an all-around podcast with 7 team members. We expect to have an episode out by next week and we will be releasing them every week after that ( hopefully ). We're all very excited to start this podcast and we hope that you guys will enjoy it as well! If you have an artistic side, we're running a contest for the podcast. Any who, below is the link to the stream, you can also download it here from multiupload ( Rapidshare ). I will update this post soon™ with timestamps & if I can possibly get this on itunes ( should be done before the end of the day hopefully ) that'd be awesome.
Thoughts on the meeting? Do you like the new Q&A Layout?

20k Leveling Coaches
I've gotten countless numbers of e-mails where people are simply asking if there is a way to track your gold in take and output. They want to know what they're spending on and what exactly X item is yielding them. So I've decided to make this post and list a couple of helpful addons that will help you keep track of your gold and stay organized. Below are the top addons that track your gold, they're in no order.
Analyst Addon
This is a great addon to have/get if you're trying to get organized when you're making gold. It does several things at once and you can even set it to track per day, week or month. Below is a small list of what this addon does/tracks:
- How much gold did I earn and how?
- How much gold did I spend and on what?
- How am I doing in the auction house?
- What have I looted from mobs?
- What items did I consume?
- What items did I produce?
- How many currencies (marks, badges, emblems) have I collected?
- What have I deposited or withdrawn from the guild bank?
- What is my gathering and crafting activity?
MySales Addon
This is the addon I used to track my gold. It doesn't do everything analyst does but it allows me to see who bought X item at what time and at what price. It also allows me to track my sales for a given period of time ( day/week/month ). The way it spits out data is very nice and organized, though there is one way I wish this addon had: custom sorting. Below is a small features list:
- Display your sale in a table display.
- Show what your top sellers are and your top buyers.
- Buyer names coloured if they're in your guild or friends list.
- Filter entries by time.
Auditor Addon
This is the last addon that I know of that tracks your gold. I've never personally used it but from what I've heard it's great. It tracks almost everything you can think of and then some. It tracks your gold in four different "times" Per Session/Day/Week/All Time. Below is a list of what it exactly tracks:
- Loot money - Whether you are solo, in a party or in a raid.
- Vendor money - Stuff you buy from or sell to vendors.
- Quest money - Money you gain from quests, and money you spend on quest
- Trade money - Doing enchants or transmutes? Yep, it catches money exchanged in trade.
- Mail money - Sending money to/from your alts or friends?
- AH money - At last, both outgoing AND incoming Auction House money is tracked.
- Training money - How much did you spend on training and respecs?
- Flight money - Flight Expenses
- Repairs money - See how much money you really spent on repairing your kit after those instances.
- Unknown money - Money gained/lost, but for whatever reason, Auditor can't work out where it's from.
- Reconciliation money - That's money for when you just installed Auditor, and it has to account for the cash you have right now, or for when you crashed, or were logged on at a friend's house. It's all good.
- Guild Bank money - Money you deposit or withdraw from your Guild Bank. Exciting, I know.
- LFG reward money
- Guild contributions money
- Reforging money
That's all folks, hopefully you'll download one of the three mentioned addons and get yourself organized instead of wondering that 100g went. To the AH Goblins: Tracking your gold is needed regardless if you don't have a way to track your gold I suggest you download one of these three addons so you can see how much you're spending/earning. It's always fun to look at the monthly log to see what you've made X gold in a month.

With the recent announcement that patch 4.1 will not contain the Firelands Raid by Blizzard and instead 4.2 will contain it, it got me thinking. Well Blizzard said that 4.2 will be released shortly after 4.1.. and what major thing could either of these patches bring..? Epic Gems.
If we go back and analyze the data from the past expansions we notice that Blizzard released the Burning Crusade epic gems in patch 3.1 along with the first major content patch that Burning Crusade got. Let's Fast Forward to Wrath of The Lich King, epic gems don't hit until 3.2, but this time it's released along with the second major content patch. What does this leave us with for Cataclysm? Epic gems could hit in either 4.1 or 4.2, both of which are supposedly right around the corner.
I wrote a post not long ago debating if you should be stockpiling pyrite ore or if it's too early. My opinion has then shifted, I think now is the time to be stockpiling the pyrite ore. You don't really have a lot of time if 4.1 and 4.2 is coming out soon, especially if 4.2 is going to be released shortly after 4.1. If you haven't already I suggest that you start buying pyrite whenever it's cheap ( if you haven't already ). I've had a couple people ask me if I think they'll add a new ore into the game that will yield epic gems, so I'll put my two cents into that. I personally don't think blizzard will go in and add a whole new type of ore, it hasn't happened in the past and I don't see why they'd do it now.
Another thing that you might want to stockpile is rare gems. Why? Because you will most likely be able to transmute them into epics. Now you're not going to want an absurd amount of gems stockpile because the transmute will also most likely have a cooldown on it. Unless you plan on having multiple alchemists ( 5+ ) I'd say that you're safe with a couple hundred of each color.
I'm not the only one wondering when and were epic gems are coming from, Anaalius made a recent post on his blog that I think ties in very well with this post, if you're interested check out where he thinks epic gems are going to come from. It's an excellent post and I suggest you read it if you're really going to make using epic gems to make gold from once they're released.
With the 4.1 and 4.2 announcement what are your thoughts on the epic gems ordeal?
No gold making tip today.. sorry guys! But... thanks to Saate from Massively Obsessed ( who just recently re-launched his site, check it out! ) I was able to snag up a couple Trading Card Game Loot codes to giveaway in a contest here at JMTC. There are three loot cards to be given away they are as follow: A Liandro's Lil XT, A Paint Bomb Loot Card & A Party G.R.E.N.A.D.E loot card. The contest itself is pretty simple, you can have up to three total entries if you meet all of the requirements.
How to submit entries into the contest:
- E-mail Me/Markco telling either of us how JMTC helped you make gold - Also tell us that you're entering the contest within the e-mail ( Artsytorres AT gmail DOT com OR freebeertomorrowonyxia AT gmail DOT com )
- Follow Me & Markco on twitter and tweet us a gold tip (Mageshadow's / Markco's Twitter Accounts)
- Leave a comment on this post listing your favorite JMTC Post and why you like it so much/how it helped you
If you can also drop by Saate's blog ( Massively Obsessed ) and leave a thank you comment & check out his newly redesigned blog ( which looks awesome ). He's one of the few bloggers that still surprises me to date, the content on his site is simply amazing and mind-blowing, it ranges from well written & in-depth guides to analysis on certain markets. Overall it's just a good blog to read when you have the time. Any who, I'll leave you guys to be, good luck and have fun!

Hey guys and girls, today I want to show you how I went from 1 to 60 gold in 7.5 minutes without any addons and without my toon leaving a major city. This is exactly the kind of out of the box thinking you'll find in my WoW Gold Guide, except that I'll show you how to use addons to accomplish these tasks. That way, you could do exactly what I did in this video but in less than half the time! What's more, you'll be able to invest far more money into far more items and make exponentially more money over time.
This is but one strategy I use to make gold in the WoW Gold Guide and I'm constantly adding to it every time I figure out something new. Yesterday I updated chapter 12 with an additional video guide on ore crusher, the addon everyone is going crazy about who has a jewelcrafter and possibly an enchanter and alchemist. It instantly shows you whether you can make money prospecting and then either disenchanting rings or transmuting gems. You'll know right away how many gems you should get as well as what to do with them to make the most gold possible.
Turn 1 Gold into 60 in 7.5 Minutes without Addons
Last nights meetings was one of the best opinion. It was just fantastic how everything went, how everyone openly asked questions and they were answered in many different ways. I simply loved the way the meeting went overall, and I think you guys will enjoy it too.

Just My Two Copper is holding a meeting tonight at 9PM Eastern Time Zone. Tonight's meeting is going to be very different than the others we've had in the past. We're no longer doing a meet and greet kind of meeting where everyone can talk. Instead I'm choosing to hold a Q&A type of meeting. At the very start almost everyone will be muted ( it's only temporary ) only a couple of people that are well known will be able to speak. You ( the users ) will ask a question in chat and we'll try to answer it to the best of our abilities. If other users want to chime into the question that was asked, they will then be given the permission to speak, but firstly they'll have to introduce themselves ( say who you are, etc ). I feel that by doing this we can increase the overall quality of these meetings. As always a recording of the meeting is going to be posted the next day ( Saturday ) for those who couldn't of made it.
So please, do not be alarmed when you cannot speak, no one will be able to besides a handful of people. IF you wish to speak simply ask and one of the admins/voices will unmute you and you will have your turn to speak.

This is a fascinating market that has been around since the start of the Darkmoon Faire. I only learned about it a couple months back when a user ( duck ) from the consortium forums posted it. I simply love making gold with this method.
You can make thousands of gold from this method and you're only having to invest a couple thousand. Last time I did this method I put in roughly 500g and walked out with about 20,000g in loot from patterns/greens. After everything sold I was sitting on a nice hefty pile of 21,500g.
The way the method works is you buy Dense Stone, use a blacksmith ( or your own ) to turn that into Dense Grinding Stone which you will then turn that in into Kerri Hicks who takes 8 Dense Grinding Stones for 20 Darkmoon Faire Tickets. You then turn those tickets in for bags that can have varied loot but most importantly a ton of rare & expensive patterns.
There are three different bags that you can turn in the tickets in for, I'll list them below and their noteable loots.
[Minor Darkmoon Prize] [ 5 Tickets ]
[Razor's Edge]
[Feet of the Lynx]
[Ranger Bow]
[Blackfang]
[Rakzur Club]
[Sentry Cloak]
[Lesser Darkmoon Prize] [ 12 Tickets ]
[Plans: Mithril Shield Spike]
[Pattern: Guardian Belt]
[Schematic: Craftsman's Monocle]
[Pattern: Comfortable Leather Hat]
[Midnight Mace]
[Black Duskwood Staff]
[Greater Darkmoon Prize] [ 40 Tickets ]
[Pattern: Mooncloth Leggings]
[Schematic: Sniper Scope]
[Plans: Radiant Belt]
[Plans: Dawnbringer Shoulders]
[Six Demon Bag]
[Schematic: Lifelike Mechanical Toad]
[Plans: Whitesoul Helm]
[Formula: Enchant Gloves - Riding Skill]
[Pattern: Star Belt]
When opening the bags you'll receive a ton of greens that you can sell anywhere from 10-25g ( I sell all of mine at 25g/ea and relist every 48 hours.. I rarely get any of them back unsold ). By selling the green you're actually paying for the price of the Dense Stone which is just simply great, it makes the rare patterns/rare gear 100% profit.
I suggest you guys go try this out, it's an easy way to turn 500g into 10k+ gold, even more depending if you get a rare pattern worth 5-10k+. What do you have to risk? Go ahead an try it out!

Specialize or Diversify? Control one market or dip your toes into several?
Bangkok Bill's World of Goldcraft:
Specializing tends to be easier; you know your market better; and takes less time; while diversifying takes more time; can lead you to sometimes post things at less than the optimal amount due to lack of knowledge/time; but does help ensure profits in the case of one market drying up. So which should you do?
Break The Bank
Interesting timing for this carnival topic. I just finished writing a series on buyer awareness, at the end of which I proposed a non-traditional take on diversification. The question itself is not easily answered since it doesn’t really come down to choosing one over the other, but rather to knowing when to specialize and when to diversify. I think I’ll begin to answer this question by first of all expanding it from two options to four.
Bank of Wukam
The topic this month is whether it is better to focus on one market, controlling it completely, or to spread yourself over multiple markets, always ensuring you have your hand in something. The obvious and easy answer is, of course, "both!" But obvious and easy answers are rarely much fun. So instead, I'll try to break them down, and figure out which choice is best under what circumstances.
Nerf Faids
I first came into the real community of gold making last fall. Someone in a community I read had just reached the gold-cap and I wanted to be just like them. They did it entirely through glyphs back when they were booming in early Wrath and I set forth to do the same. I did the exact same thing. Glyphs glyphs glyphs 24/7. It's all I sold. I was on my toon every 20 minutes cancelling and reposting.
Xander's Gold Mine
Well there are many answers to this question if you could choose to do one or the other or even both. There is really no right answer its what you want to do. Lets take a look at all three possibilities and then at the end I will give you my opinion.
Kaliope's Wow Crafting Blog
The latest Carnival topic from JMTC got me thinking about the idea of whether it's better to specialize or diversify as a new Auction House player. Obviously folks who've been playing the markets for a while have already made their choice on this question, so its the newcomers who generally face this issue. Given my background in tech support, I tend to follow the KISS philosophy when introducing new ideas to people. It's easy for players to get overwhelmed in a game as complex as WoW, so why not start in a small pond and work your way up? This is why I would advocate specializing for the budding auction house dabbler.
Stylish Black Shirt
My general answer is diversification is far better than specialization. In WoW, markets aren't limited by scarcity in the traditional sense. The few markets that are limited are thus constrained by drop rates. Those markets become difficult to control, because savvy players will list those items at prices that reflect the value of the item. You can't necessarily control a market the same way that DeBeers controlled the diamond market for many years.
Player Vs Auction House
If there is ever a question between whether you should specialize or diversify in a particular market or just in general, the correct answer is to specialize in diversity. A lot of AH advice is sort of wishy-washy "do what feels right for you" but this is one of the big, unequivocal no-brainers. Diversify, branch out, get your thumbs in as many pies as you can.
Fat Jack's Wow Gold Rush
Sometimes we find ourselves in a position where we need to reevaluate where we are at, and if we're smart it may be necessary to readjust our direction. For me I've just hit that point in game. I had dropped a lot of gold into leveling some of my professions. I only have a Druid that has made it to 85. And my operating cash (gold) stores had dwindled down. So it was time to readjust my business plan to move back to profitability. To be honest I'm an average guy with a hectic life.
The Gold Queen
An unusual situation is taking shape slowly and surely in World of Warcraft as the market matures, players gain more knowledge, more experience of the AH, of addons, and of items. The market becomes more saturated with items for sale, and the limiting factor in the number of items you can sell becomes more and more dependent on time, rather than gold.
Alto's Gold"ish" Advice
How good are you on the AH? Have you hit 10K, 50K, 500K, a Million? Whichever spot you are at, you mos def need to use what you have to get there. Think about that a second.....
Auction House Addict
For me, diversify is my natural habit - I have most profs maxed now (except BS & Eng) & although I am currently spending most time on JC & Inscription, I'm also popping over to my LW'er when a blog post comes up that reminds me of something or to my bank alt mage to do a quick teleport around the capital cities for vendor items.
The Vayaz
The first problem we come across is the one I mentioned at the beginning: Time. At the first glance, specialising in certain markets seems like the idea to go, because the maximum level of diversification (i.e., presence in every market) will basically eat all your time.
That's all for this month folks! An excellent set of submissions from the blogosphere, be sure to drop by and leave a comment or two on their blogs! Also be sure to check out the past JMTC Blogging Carnivals for even more great stuff to read!

Knowledge. Without it, you're not going anywhere. Information is the KEY when you're making gold. The more you know the better. If you don't know what the price for X item is, you can't really make a profit. Knowing that there is a upcoming patch and knowing that that patch is going to release epic gems is what and can make you thousands of gold. Knowing that a certain item is going to go up in price soon is what can and will make you thousands of gold.
If you don't do your research you're only cutting yourself short, If you don't read blogs, forums, tweets, etc, you're losing out on information that could potentially make you rich. You simply need to do your research if you're somewhat interesting in making gold within this game ( and any other game/real life situations ). You wouldn't invest in a stock if you new nothing about it.. right? You read up on the company.. check how they've been doing.. etc etc, well it's the same concept here.. you read upcoming changes, you read the forums for past trends, etc etc.
There are tons of sites that put this information out there.. you just simply have to go out and look for it. There are the JMTC Forums, The Consortium Forums, My Twitter account, Markco's twitter account, the tutorial page at the top, Hundreds of blogs that put out great information daily, there are even podcasts ( CTA & AHJ )out there that you can listen to while you play! You can even have someone teach you everything if you use the WoW Coaching Program.
I was reading some of the comments on one of the recordings that I posted about two weeks ago, and one really struck me. What the comment basically said was that you can't take advice from anyone, that you should only be taking advice/tips from people that you personally trust. I completely disagree with that statement but I can see where the poster is coming from.. but honestly what do you have to lose? A tip is a tip even if it's from a "non-trusted" source, you're only cutting yourself short if you choose not to listen to this or read someones blog just because they aren't trusted. I personally take advice from anyone that's willing to give it to me, from there I can choose whether or not to follow someone's advice based on what I think. I guess what I'm trying to say is that any advice can be good advice regardless of the source.
You need to look for the information. You can't have someone else do it, you personally have to take the time and read/listen to the ideas and tips that are being put out there. It's not going to come to you, you have to go out and look for it. The information is there, the question is: Are you looking for it? Are you reading it? Are you listening to it?
