Every so often I will go and take a friend out to eat.    Sometimes we will pay for each other,  other times it's pay for your own.   Occasionally I will even put a crowbar into the wallet and pay for it all.   This is separate from going out on a date since I tend to pay for the food on a date.   Yes,  I've a caveman when it comes to dating....

So how does this apply to Warcraft gold?    I love sales.  I love logging on and seeing 10 to 20 sales on each of my toons.   I let it auto collect all of my gold and then move on.   But occasionally I will take a look and see just who purchased what items.  If it's one or two items then it's just filed in my mind under miscellaneous information.  But every so often I will see that one person bought 10 to 20 of an item.   My mental gears start rolling and I question why this is.   Am I missing an opportunity for more gold from this person?  Or am I missing a new system that might be applied to my own strategy.

There are times I will contact the person to talk to them.   If I think it's because they may buy more then we can negotiate.   If they seem to have a good idea I look to see if it is something that I might be able to use.   There are very few systems that will limit how many people can be working with before it becomes over saturated and nonviable for gold making.

So just a little bit of knowledge and leg work can bring in a better sale from a player.   Also it can provide a new avenue of sales or investment that will pay off in future endeavors.  All for the price of a meal.

MOP Prep: Stuff to Gold, Gold to Stuff

I have preached from my gold goblin pulpit that need for space.   The more markets you are involved in,  the more space that becomes necessary.   Space becomes a premium if you are a collector.   The same occurs if you are an investor.  MOP approaching the more storage area that you have now,  the more markets you can be involved with flipping mass amounts of items/materials.

Pricing a Guild: Pawn Star Style

So for our prep work we should be looking for at least one guild bank (if not more depending on how much gold you have to spend).   Depending on how many slots are available,  you are looking at an investment between 500-750g.   This might seem like a lot (many people who message me are sitting at the 10k to 20k range for investments) but just Investing in Netherweave by itself will recoup that loss and more.

Lets assume that you purchased a 3 tab guild bank.  That will give us 291 slots to play with (3 x 98).   Thats a good healthy amount of slots to store items for quick flipping and production.   If your working with one guild bank (which I suggest placing at least two of your crafting toons in).  Organize your tabs with one tab covering one profession.   Tab 2 can cover the other profession with tab 3 being organized over miscellaneous items to sell.   If you have purchased more than one guild bank then repeat the process with two more toons (if you have them) or seperate your toons so that each bank is covered by one of your production toons.

This setup will allow you to go directly to the guild bank to pick up items instead of needing to log out on one toon to ship items to the other crafter.   To set this up will require a trustworthy friend/player who you can set as the Guild Master and invite the other one of your toons into the Guild.  After the invite and acceptance then your friend can return the mantle of Guild Master to one of your toons.

Organization is going to be a key ingredient to being successful.   Those first few days will go quickly with people looking to invest gold into items.   They will want to buy more and more items and it's a guarantee someone will be there to purchase them.   The important part is to make sure that the seller is you at the highest cost possible.

Being less than 6 months from the release of the Mists of Pandaria expansion,   the scramble is on for getting ready as a gold goblin.   Structuring what items to store,  what items to produce to eek out that last amount of gold that's available before people stop buying crafted items.

This is also a good time to restructure your storage system.  Especially if you are holding more than one guild bank in your personal cartel.   Keeping a well organized bank,  including like items or items for specific professions will make things a lot easier time wise.   You will know exactly what toon to swap to, and what tab holds the item you need.

Also with this change in organization you can keep track of supplies.   there are addons such as Ark Inventory that will make the viewing easier.    Setting your cursor on an item in your main inventory,  or even on the Auction house will give you a report on any similar items you carry across your toon storage.   Even covering the usage of guild banks as well as personal banks.   This will also allow you to do directly to your storage center that contains what you need quicker,   and with less hassle.

One other item to look to reorganize in this "down" time between the end of cataclysm and the beginning of Mists is what professions your toons carry.   Mists is identifying to have an extra character slot (at least in the betas) which will allow at least one more game character per account.   This gives you a prime opportunity to add another alchemist or another jewelcrafter to double your potential for profits.   Some players have set up a multiple amount of alchemists to allow multiple transmutes,   and multiple amounts of items on the market.  With jewelcrafting it gives you the option of multiple amounts of jewelcrafting tokens,   getting the prime cuts at a much faster rate.

Also your reorganization should include changes in placement of your toon.   Do you have a game character in Dalaran to pick up items for resell from there?    What about one in Tanaris giving you access to the joint AH to pick up items cross faction?   Do you have a hearth set in Shattrath ready to do a recipe run?   Placement of your toons across the continents can make things easier for not just crafting,  but also for farming and resell.

The last thing to look at in your closet cleaning is your addons and game files.   As the game continues,  we all uninstall addons,  leaving just the base files to sit there.   Or stop using addons and forget they are even there.   cleaning out your game files,   and even to the idea of downloading a fresh copy of the game and reinstalling your addons can increase not only your gaming speed,  but help to eliminate some of the possible errors when it's time to play with panda pride.
