As previously noted, it's recomended to 'buy low, sell normal' which is working wonderfully, using a Snatch list gives me most of my AH money.
So the question, do you know of any way to make the Appraiser module more cynical? I'm currently using the 'Simple' stat module for calculating the market value, with the 'Undercut' module set to only undercut by a very small amount.
Do you know, if it's possible in some way, to make Auctioner not post at 100% market value (before Undercut/ah fees substraction) but instead aim to post at say 105% ?
I'd like my Auctioneer to correctly calculate the market price for a certain item, but post it at just a tad bit over it. Due to making a boatload of small sales, a little extra margin would go a long way for me, and adding a fixed price like 50silver to all
calculations wouldn't work either as on the more expensive items the extra money is neglible but on the low level herbs that's a steep price raise.Thank you

I have tried to come up with a way to do this and could not figure it out. I even tried using QA3 to undercut by - 50 silver and it didn't work. Sorry :(

Well, good to know it's just not me being stupid :p
In regards to
undercutting by a negative amount, what I've been is to set up the Rounding and
"sustract fixed amount" to -50, thus automatically raising the price by 50silver
when rounding, but that raises the price across the board, no percentage.

This series of emails got me thinking about possible enhancements for auctioneer besides the one mentioned in the email:
- Allow snatch to search items based on the values of other items. For instance, it would be nice to be able to set snatch to find me all borean leather stacks that are less than 75% the price of an arctic fur.
- Searching for auctioneer names. I know you can sort by them but why not allow us to search by them?
- Sorting by PCT across multiple pages.

I'd like to be able to set a StdDev confidence threshold for searches, e.g. don't show me resale search results with confidences of 0.89 or less.

I think I'll have to study writing addons for WOW, but I think the enhancements asked shouldn't be too hard to program.
The key issue would be to increase the speed at which it does things, which may turn into a problem if it involves using external code.
Just an addon that combines already existing functions would be great: greens, blues epics that sell for less than the enchanting mats and so on, all combined into one addon.

Beancounter
It comes with Auctioneer Suite. If you make a sale, it marks the price up x%, and if you do not sell it, it will mark it down y%. You can change the values around, I use 1%.
The only problem I found with it, for example, is I was selling many Netherweave bags. After 100 or so sales, it would no longer match the lowest price, because it calculated that it should be higher.
I had to adjust my pricing limits to mark down to 85% with vendor price as minimum. This can be a problem though, and I find myself canceling auctions due to a low priced competitor I didn't notice.
I learned about it from a video I found on Google, unfortunately I don't have a link for it, but shouldn't be hard to find.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you this is already possible.
Under the general search tab about halfway down you can put a sellers name. Hit the search button and it tells you everything that person is currently selling.
It sounded like that's what you're looking for but I could be wrong.

Auctioneer/Beancounter:
Markup and markdown percentages in 2-3 decimal places, ie markup .125% per success, mark down .063% per fail.
Quick Auctions:
Undercut by percentage.

First let me say auctioneer is the greatest and Markco taught me how to use it...(I don't want to piss off the creator and make him think I don't respect and admire and love him)
I would like the ability to % not just page but the whole list...
When I sort on % it only sorts the page..not pages...
I would love a notepad with copy and paste maybe a calculator...
But that said...please Markco and the creator of auctioneer are the best!

I'm one of the auctioneer devs. Your best bet is to post this stuff on our forums, but since I'm here...

Hmm, might be possible. As another user mentioned, a good alternative might be that Beancounter can be set up to automatically raise prices as you successfully sell them, and lower as you don't, to always be searching for that highest sellable price.

The last time you suggested this, I created a JIRA item for it and linked it back here for you guys to vote for, but for whatever reason it didn't get approved here or something, because when I checked back it wasn't here.
"Searching for auctioneer names." Could certainly be done, but if you're using a getall scan, you're not going to have 90% of seller names.
"Sorting by PCT across multiple pages." If you mean on the browse tab, it's not possible, blizzard does the sorts server side. If you mean in the search tab we provide, this is already how it works.
"I'd like to be able to set a StdDev confidence threshold for searches" Interesting, but troublesome, because searches can't be linked to you having to have certain stats enabled. what if you're using a different stat which doesn't use the stddev confident?

Thanks for the feedback D, I apologize if something you wrote was blocked, may have been an error on my part.
Auctioneer is a godsend, and as a programmer I understand how easy it is to say 'make the addon do this' but there are often things in the way that the person making the statement can't see.
My goal with this post is simply to start discussions, hopefully I didn't come across as saying auctioneer is lacking or something.

I might be a total auctioneer newb and this is already possible, but it would be great to have a side by side PCT from both factions when you hover over an item.

feature request - just like you can search for resale items (items that are below the market value) it'd be amazing if you could do a search for all items ABOVE market value.
Ex. You do a full scan then a "High Demand" scan, this will return all items that are above say 200% PCT or 2x the price it normally goes for.
The uses for this are endless, it could tell you what items are the most in-demand and undersupplied.
Maybe even a way to search what isn't posted on the AH that is usually in demand.

I'd like to second Kraklin's suggestion of a way to find undersupplied/gouged markets. I would like to also say I'd like to see a newspaper'ish financial summary of specific items. I forget the addon's name, but there's one that does some of that already. The trick is it requires it's own scan.
