As you continue to celebrate Easter in your own way. Whether it's attending the local church services. Hunting colored Easter eggs, or logging onto WOW to search for the latest steals and deals. The only thing to always consider is just who is your true competitor in the game of being a goblin.
Markco from Diablo 3 Gold Guide asked the question about whether one person could compete against a million on an open auction house. Having a spark of interest it made me question who really are we competing again. Many people will go to the auction house, drop a few items on there in the hopes of making gold, then continuing on their merry way to level, craft and ultimately be gold poor.
Then you have the small percentage (Occupy Azeroth anyone?) that ends up taking a bit of time to get the information, the add-ons and even some skill to be able to get a decent if not obscene amount of gold from
their crafting, buying and selling abilities. All in the name of creating a new game for themselves. One where there are no real scoreboards, and the only drive we have is to get the next deal.
Being a 1%'er also changes how you view the game of Warcraft overall. It's not just a holiday that you end up spending time to get achievements. a 1% also looks at the purchasable loot list and says "hmmmm, what can I resell for a profit from here?". Are the eggs themselves BOE, are they trade-able? The mounts, the pets, what will bring me that much closer to my goals in this game.
Being a 1%'er changes who you play against. When a deal goes bad, or you make a mistake. No one calls you a "noob" but yourself. No one votes you out of the group. You just get to move onto the next deal or next profession and work on not letting the same mistake happen again.
So as the next week progresses, and you read entries here and on other journals. Keep an eye on how you view the gold scene. The closer that Mists is to being released, the more exciting and more interesting the journey begins to be. Even for the 1% in all of us

I have always been the 1%er since the game was released. I remember being the only player to have epic gear before I hit level 60 :)
I have always been on top of the gold market and love making profit from buying and reselling items in the AH.

The 1% of Azeroth is something that has played on all our minds for a while now. As someone who struggles with the ethics of wealth, this post by Sinshroud in October was timely
